Casago is excited to announce that Puerto Peñasco local professional Daniel Suarez has been named Resort Manager for the Sonoran Star. This is exciting news as the Sonoran Star, the fifth condominium complex of the Sonoran Resorts group, represents the newest addition along the Sandy Beach stretch of what is affectionately called “Arizona’s Beach.”
Daniel has been part of the Casago Rocky Point team for nearly 5 years. He is thrilled about the opportunity to continue strengthening Casago’s owner-centric property management principles while maintaining the company’s outstanding care for guests. Steve Schwab, Casago founder and CEO, emphatically affirms, “I know Daniel is the right guy for the job.”
Daniel’s enthusiasm for his new role is a prime example of upholding one of his favorite phrases, “el esfuerzo de hoy es el éxito de mañana;” today’s efforts are tomorrow’s successes. His dedication to ensuring the utmost in care and services for owners and guests stems from his determined focus on stellar hospitality.
We recently caught up with Daniel at the Sonoran Sun, where he has been the Casago Resort Manager for nearly 4 years. As he and the team prepare for the launch of vacation rentals at the first phase of Sonoran Star this June, Daniel had no problem providing a warm welcome and lighthearted conversation as he readies for this new adventure.
Daniel Suarez: Dedication to hospitality
Originally from Puerto Peñasco, Daniel’s laser focus on the future led him to study mechatronics engineering at the Autonomous University of Baja California (UABC) in Mexicali. When the pandemic hit, Daniel returned to Puerto Peñasco, “temporarily” he thought. He quickly found his communication skills and superb English to be valuable assets in acquiring a job with Casago. When he started with the company, Daniel provided call center support for one of Casago’s numerous franchises. His personable approach to online hospitality was paramount in working with Casago’s Kona, Hawaii market.
When an opportunity arose to return to Mexicali to work in the field he had studied, Daniel saw that his problem-solving skills were already on track to pursue new leadership opportunities with Casago. Daniel decided to stay in Rocky Point as he saw the possibility of developing a new career path, and we are so glad he did!
For just over 3½ years, Daniel Suarez has been the Casago Resort Manager at the Sonoran Sun. During that time, he has encountered both challenges and rewards, established newfound trust with owners, and excelled in communication with guests. He is humble in further expressing pride as a type of hospitality mentor for the team.
As he steps into his new role as Casago Resort Manager at the Sonoran Star, he is excited to experience a whole new resort while maintaining Casago’s standards of excellence.
Dedicated, Empathetic, Strategic
Daniel thoroughly enjoys his hometown of Puerto Peñasco, finding opportunities to clear his mind by fishing just offshore or following his favorite sport of basketball. His eyes light up when speaking of his other passion, travel, noting extensive travel throughout Mexico and more recently to California and Colorado in the U.S.
Upon careful consideration, Daniel describes himself as dedicated and strongly goal-oriented, as well as empathetic when considering the experiences and needs of owners and guests. Finally, the new Casago Resort Manager for the Sonoran Star defines himself as strategic, with a keen eye on the future and anticipating how to best sustain Casago’s nearly quarter century of expertise in the industry.
We are confident that Daniel will shine bright at the Sonoran Star! Congratulations, Daniel!
