This home is Clean, Comfortable, Convenient. It is kept up well, has almost everything that you could need, and it centrally located on the Island. A great find!
We absolutely loved the condo. Everything we could have needed (besides salt and pepper) was available. The beach access is across the street and plenty of restaurants are in walking distance. We enjoyed sitting in the deck and watching the birds.
What a perfect place. They have everything you need for a great vacation! Kayaks, beach chairs, dock… they have it all! Definitely would recommend this gem.
This was one of the best places I have ever stayed. It was so lovely, so clean, and very, very comfortable. I appreciate the chance to get to stay here and hope to be back again!
My priority in reading reviews is to initially find three things. # 1 Are the photos and description accurate. YES, they are 100% accurate at the time of my stay. # 2 Is it clean. YES, it is clean. # 3 Is the area safe. YES, the area around the Condo was very safe, as well as every area I explored on the island. Afterwards I read what people share. The Condo is furnished nicely with what could be needed. The kitchen has what is needed. The beds and furniture were nice. The linens supplied were good. It did take an online search to figure out how to use the Thermostat for Heat & A/C. The balcony has a wonderful view, and I spent a great deal of time relaxing looking out there. The dock was a nice place to sit and look at Mobile Bay, the birds and other wildlife. It is a very short walk to the beach on the Gulf of Mexico. The outside of the building & hallways are well lit. But the Island is DARK Outdoors at night, a flashlight is on my list to bring next time. Also, for sitting near the water, you will need bug spray. I never had an issue while walking on the stunning beaches. I had beautiful a morning walks from Mobile Bay to the Gulf of Mexico and back. I would stay here again, especially now that I have “gotten a feel for the Island”. I escaped Mid-West Winter by staying down here. I can understand why many people say that “in winter people either love this Island or hate it”. It is QUIET. No chain restaurants, no wild nightlife, no amusement parks, not many people at all. It does have an abundance of kind helpful people. It has an infinite supply of natural beauty along the beaches. Dauphin Island is amazingly dog friendly for leashed well behaved dogs. I found 2 services that truly enhanced my time here. “Dauphin Island Hospitality” who delivered & put away my grocery order BEFORE I arrived. And what I believe to be the Shining Star of this Island “Dinner’s Ready” who sells prepared meals. They made some of the BEST Southern Cooking that I have ever had, other than my mother’s. The reality of what I read in the rental description pales by the reality of how nice and comfortable this place is to stay. I am looking forward to coming back to escape another Mid-Western Winter!
We have been going to Dauphin Island for years in the summer and at Christmas time an have stayed here many times an just really enjoy the location an facility - my kids love the kayak launch right there as they love to go out and explore an fishing from the boat docks.
