Welcome to

Navarre

Along Florida’s Emerald Coast, tucked between the Gulf Islands National Seashore and Navarre Beach Marine Park, visitors will be delighted to come across one of the few spots where you can truly feel like you have the beach to yourself.

Situated on the Santa Rosa barrier island of Florida’s Panhandle, Navarre is a breathtaking seaside jewel enhanced by sugary-white sands, dunes, and crystal clear waters. Visitors will easily understand why Navarre is frequently referred to as “Florida’s Best Kept Secret.” It is a community that values simplicity, sunshine, and the natural environment above all else.

The history enveloping Navarre is as rich and salty as the quartz particles that make up its phenomenal beaches. From early fishing camps of the Creek and Choctaw who lived along the island’s shores, to 19th century settlers who called the area Eagan before surveyor Col. Guy Wyman platted the community in 1925, Navarre has a rich legacy of drawing people to its spectacular scenery. Upon naming the community after a province in northern Spain, Wyman envisioned these sandy shores as a vibrant destination for families to relax and enjoy the area’s natural beauty.

Today, people visit Navarre to escape the commercial bustle of larger resort towns. While the east side of Navarre is home to diverse eateries and some high-rises, the west side is dotted with individual homes and sand trails. With beach access points up and down the island, beachcombers can easily make their way to Navarre’s calm shores.

In addition to possibly spotting dolphins or snorkeling at the Navarre Beach Marine Park, visitors of all ages can observe sea turtle conservation efforts or walk the longest fishing pier in the state. Whether you are kayaking through the sound or cycling along the scenic highway, the focus in Navarre is always on the outdoors and finding a quiet spot to unwind, unplug, and recharge.
