Eugene

Sitting along I-5 just under two hours south of Portland, Eugene is known as home to the University of Oregon as well as for its vibrant arts scene, natural beauty, and outdoor recreation. In particular, Eugene is often called “Track Town, USA” as the birthplace of Nike and due to its deep-rooted and enduring passion for track and field.

With mild, wet winters and warm, dry summers, Eugene is considered to have a temperate climate. Summer temperatures can reach up into the 80°F, offering dry and sunny weather with low humidity. In winter (December through February) Eugene’s colder temperatures are still mild enough that rain rarely turns into snow. Keep in mind that Eugene’s rainy season can sometimes last from late October until early April - resulting in the lush vegetation the area is known for.

In addition to those flocking to see the Ducks at University of Oregon, Eugene features numerous trails for hiking, biking, and of course running. Hike up to Skinner Butte for incredible city views. For those looking to explore culture and history, Eugene is home to premier museums, the Eugene Science Center, the Hult Center for the Performing Arts, and a planetarium.
