Grand Caribbean West #W113

When we arrived, the entry code we were given didn’t work. After trying several different codes, we were finally able to get in. Once inside, the rugs in the hallway were dirty, and the unit had a strong, unpleasant smell. On day two, the washing machine broke. We were told no one would be able to come that day, but someone would be sent. By day four, no one ever called or showed up to repair it. The condo also has a roach problem. Unfortunately, due to all these issues, we ended up cutting our trip short and heading home early.

It took us 45 minutes to get a working code for the front door. After numerous calls and emails/chats back and forth with Vacasa we finally got in. Unit has peeling paint on walls and doors and rusted corners on the drywall. Found paint stashed under the bunks so hopefully there's a plan for a much needed refresh soon. Master bed is broken, squeaks terribly and has a large dip in the middle of the mattress. Light pours into master bedroom all night from outside lights, someone tried to fix it with velcro on the curtains, but that has worn out. We threw a quilt over the curtain rod to get sleep. Killed 2 creepy crawlers- it's the beach and somewhat expected but when I sent the photo to Vacasa, they questioned whether or not it was actually a roach... yes, it definitely was. Sink in bathroom does not drain so don't let your entire family brush their teeth back to back. All of these issues were shared in real time with the Vacasa text line. Only pro was closeness to the pool. Public beach access has about 15 ft of dry sand you can use due to other complexes taking over as "private" beach. Will not be returning

Pros- walkable to beach, pool right off of the back deck Cons- the walkable public beach is very small, the condos on either side have the beach blocked off, so it gets very crowded- this was enforced by police The main bed needs replacing. It has a giant dip in it and is very squeaky

We chose this as a location in close proximity to Johnson Beach, and it didn't disappoint! The unit itself was clean and comfy! We could also walk to the public access beach area easily, but the resorts block off "their" beach so just be prepared for that. We didn't try to sit or hang out in the resort areas at all, just walked the beach and then would drive to Johnson Beach to sit and enjoy the day. In the evenings, the resorts don't care if you sit on their beach front property. Kitchen has everything we needed for meals. We also had great food at The Jellyfish twice & got smoothie bowls for breakfast at the cutest food trailer "Bear Bowls" just a short distance away! We would stay here again!

The bedroom had two end tables; it’s nice when my wife and I can both not have to put our water bottles on the floor. Wells stocked kitchen, was nice too.

Clean, comfortable and appeared to be a safe/secure location. Nice to be located by the pool. The pool is very clean and well maintained.
