About

Whether you prefer schussing down alpine slopes or taking in summer views on the Scenic Sky Chair, there's something for every adventurous spirit at Snow Summit.

Known as a haven for ski enthusiasts and adventure seekers, Snow Summit was founded in 1952 by Tommi Tyndall. It is one of three mountains in Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR) and offers intermediate and family skiing. BBMR has been renovating Snow Summit, spending over $250,000 in 2023-2024, ensuring the amenities are modernized for guests.

Snow Summit has become a sought-after winter destination over the years, offering a range of activities for all ages and skill levels. The resort operates primarily during the winter, from mid/end of November through April, providing ample opportunity for skiing, snowboarding, and other snow-related adventures.

During summer, its proximity to other outdoor landmarks like Castle Rock Trail makes it simple to visit both attractions in a day. Action Tours California is also nearby, adding another adventure to consider for your itinerary.

Snow Summit is a full-service ski and snowboarding destination with rentals, a summit restaurant, and lessons, to list a few. When the snow melts and flowers bloom, visitors can ride the lifts for scenic views, explore mountain bike trails, and soar on zip lines.

For year-round fun, excitement, and outdoor adventures, visit Snow Summit.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

One of the standout features of Snow Summit is its night skiing and snowboarding sessions. These offer a different dimension to the winter sports experience, allowing enthusiasts to glide down runs like Upper Miracle Mile, Summit Run, and Westridge Park under the starlit sky. Snow Summit also offers beginner lessons and equipment rentals, making it a versatile and inclusive destination for skiers and snowboardersat all levels.

The Grizzly Ridge Tubing Park is a highlight for those seeking a thrilling, high-speed adventure that doesn't require skis or snowboards. The park features a tube lift, adding an extra layer of excitement to the experience.

The attraction's central location makes grabbing a meal afterward convenient. Places like Captain's Anchorage Restaurant and Bar and Laguna Grill Restaurant are a sample of dining spots in Big Bear.

Snow Summit boasts over 40 miles of US Forest Service roads and trails for mountain biking. It also has over 60 miles of professionally built trails for cross-country biking. The downhill bike park, served by a lift, is the only one in Southern California featuring a diverse mix of terrain, berms, step-ups, and bridges.

The Euro-Bungy trampoline experience is available for a more lighthearted activity, catering to all ages. The Bear Mountain Golf Course, situated at 7,000 feet, offers nine holes with breathtaking views of the San Bernardino Mountains.

No matter the season, no matter your experience level, exhilarating thrills in a mountain setting await on your Big Bear vacation
