We have stayed in Lake Anna multiple times at different homes. This was one of the best! The boat house and pier were our favorite. The walk to the water was so enjoyable. Flat with no steps. The kitchen had everything we needed. We loved the two dishwashers and the layout of the stove off to the side. We loved everything about the house and will be back.
The size of the home, furniture, and amenities fit our group of 10 comfortably. The outdoor sitting and playing spaces were phenomenal for our extended family ranging in ages from 3 to 82. We have stayed at Lake Anna for a week each summer for over a decade, and this was our favorite home.
This is our second time visiting Lake Anna with our family and this house was perfect! We loved the spacious kitchen and dining area. It was nice to have a “kids room” for all the kids to sleep together. The dock was top notch and fully equipped with lots of fun things to play with while in the water and a TV to watch sports in the evening. Our group really enjoyed fishing off of the dock too. The house was very clean and guest services were very welcoming and accommodating. It was a great stay!
We loved the layout and amenities of this house! Wonderful and large chef's kitchen with open concept into living room. The game room in the attic is epic. We also had a great time watching a streaming boxing match down at the boat house TV while enjoying dinner. The WiFi worked great at the house and down at the boat house. There are AppleTV’s plugged into most of the TV’s so we were able to stream what we wanted to watch.
My family had a wonderful week at Saylor's retreat. The house is well laid out with HUGE common spaces. The bedrooms are nicely sized and were perfect for our family vacation (4 couples and 7 kids - teenager in the office/day bed and 6 kids in the over garage room which was a dream cousins room!). The house was clean and nicely furnished. The kitchen was very well stocked - lots of spices, oil, coffee, plenty of pots and pans. The kitchen was huge - perfect for preparing and serving a big group. The neighborhood was quiet. There is a food lion 17min away. The lot was great - nice trees to make it shady and a gentle slope with paved path down to the dock. The dock itself was perfect for lounging. The small beach was great for the little kids, and all the kids enjoyed ninja/slack line was a great addition! The water off the dock was 5-6feet deep. We brought a couple of paddle boards and also made use of the kayak, paddle board, and floats. We brought life jackets, but there were plenty there. We also brought a small sailboat which we put in at Duke's Marina and tied up to the dock. The lake here was fairly quiet during the week - occasional motor boats, jetskis, etc, but still peaceful. It got busier on the the weekend days. I would definitely recommend Saylor's retreat for a peaceful family vacation at the lake!
Sailor’s Retreat was great for our annual family trip to Lake Anna! We’ll be back!
