Sweetwater Creek State Park
If you are an outdoors enthusiast, Sweetwater Creek State Park is a 2,540 acre park that is located 15 miles from downtown. The park features a wooded trail where you can see the remains of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, which was a textile mill that was destroyed during the Civil War. The trail also features magnolias, wild azaleas, ferns, and hardwoods. In addition, the 215 acre George Sparks Reservoir is an ideal spot for fishing.
