CB22A #1 Mack-A Coastal Escape

The place is OK, but not great. I will say I had concern if the other unit was rented if we would hear noise, but they had a baby and dog and we heard nothing. For the good, the location is great. It's a little bit of a walk to the beach, so only real problem was if you need to use the bathroom quickly. We were able to walk to the Tiki bar first night and had a great time. If you don't mind 30m walk, you can walk to where there are a lot of restaurants. Since the town gouges for parking everywhere, walking helps a lot. Area where house is seemed quiet, even with construction happening on literally every block. Master BR bed was comfy. Living room couch was nice, but the TV remotes are a mess. Did not come to watch TV, but still needed to have it for early AM hangout and evening wind down. It worked ok if you have a bit of "technical" knowhow. For the not so good, overall cleanliness seemed ok when we arrived, but little things add up and experienced things like sticky spots on floors of kitchen and master bathroom, slow draining sink and shower in master bath (that were fixed during trip). Outside patio furniture has muddy dog paw prints all over. Dishes all had a "grit" on them, and when opening the dishwasher seemed like it has seen better days and prob not cleaning very well. There are no "functional" bowls in the kitchen for eating things that normal people would use a bowl for. Fortunately there was 1 plastic bowl that is probably for a child that I could use. They need to use "functional" dinnerware in a rental, no one wants to use "trendy" stuff that is not functional! It's a VACASA property, so of course we know to not expect much. Was told would refund 1/2 the cleaning fee and of course days after checkout, NO refund.

It was so nice and quiet and so close to the beach

Loved the location! It was less than a 10 minute walk to the beach, and in a nice residential area. The unit has everything you need to feel like you're at home. I had a wonderful time and will definitely be back!

Although the home largely matched the photos in the listing, my stay was marred by a number of troubling issues that I believe future guests should be aware of: Invasive Security Features: The home's alarm system is equipped with a camera that captures daily images of the kitchen area without clear notice or consent. Specifically, it appears to take a still photo every day at 2:51 PM (visible on the third screen of the alarm panel downstairs). This felt intrusive and raised serious privacy concerns. Cleanliness Concerns: The overall cleanliness of the home left much to be desired. The walls were visibly dirty, and the baseboards were covered in dark scuff marks. It did not appear that these surfaces had been cleaned recently, if at all. Maintenance Issues: The ceiling fan in the upstairs bedroom was not functioning upon arrival. While it was repaired the following morning after we contacted the host, it added to a rocky start to our stay. Restrictive Air Conditioning Settings: The A/C system is locked into a preset schedule that automatically resets to 78°F throughout the day. As someone accustomed to a cooler indoor environment (68°F), this created uncomfortable conditions—especially when returning after being out in the heat. Combined with the broken fan on the first night, sleeping was quite difficult. Dirty Kitchenware: All dishes, pots, pans, and utensils were dirty upon arrival. While some of this may be attributed to local water quality, we had to thoroughly scrub every item before use. This significantly detracted from the convenience and enjoyment of cooking in the home. While I hoped this rental would be a good fit, I left disappointed. Due to the combination of privacy issues, cleanliness shortcomings, and comfort challenges, I would not recommend this property to future guests.
