SC1336 Perfect Prescription

Let's start with the ROACHES! We saw at least six LIVE big roaches. Around 4 small LIVE roaches and multiple dead roaches inside the home. One that ran out from under our BED! Next up is the fact this home is two stories plus a basement but it only has ONE HVAC unit and only two vents upstairs! This means the downstairs is freezing cold trying to keep the upstairs cool but the upstairs is never cool because duh! hot air rises! Also the door to the basement isn't sealed so all the cool air is being sucked under the door to the basement where you will find a washer and dryer that will make your grandmother feel young. It is rusted and from the dark ages. The cleaning team does NOT VACUUM at all! There was so much dirt and sand everywhere. I know it's on the beach but there is no way they vacuumed before we got there. Also, the cleaning team didn't replace the hand soap at each sink they just filled it with WATER! They should be ashamed. No pillow cases on the pillows. They didn't clean the coffee maker and it smelled. The refrigerator smelled like rotting fish and the ice maker never made enough ice for even one person to use all week but successfully kept us up at night due to the loud noise it made. The water pressure throughout the home was terrible but especially in the downstairs bathroom. All of the beds were so squeeky they kept all of us up all night. Terrible mattresses also. Last but definatly not least the entire home SHAKES when someone walks down the exterior stairs because the pylons the home is on are rotting and the bolts that hold them are rusted in two! This home is a true safety hazard! The only plus is the ocean which you can find anywhere especially without the traffic noise because it is so close to the road. We rent at Surf City every summer and we have never had anywhere this bad!

The view is amazing.

This was a very nice house. Plenty of room and easy access to the beach right off the deck. Great views of the beach and ocean. One of the best air conditioned beach houses I’ve stayed in despite the central air unit apparently leaking water down in the laundry room upon arrival. This was promptly taken care of within minutes of the notification and wasn’t an issue during the stay. The house also had nice furniture and was nicely updated compared to some other beach houses I have rented. We will definitely try to stay here again next summer.

This house is in a great location and nicely decorated. The beach sand is clean, white and soft, and the water was refreshing but warm - around 84° (mid-August). The ocean was calm most days but if traveling with children or weak swimmers know that there are no lifeguards. It’s very convenient to be so close to the beach that one can return to the house to eat or use the restroom rather than schlep a ton of stuff to the ocean. The overall 5 star review is simply because the location of the house overshadowed the cleanliness factor which is saying a lot since I am a clean-freak.

Well updated home directly on the beach! This lovely home offers some of the best views of the beach. The deck is high with stairs straight to the sand. Do note, you are climbing the dune each time, which can be a workout, but it’s worth it!
