About

With a name that literally means “the corner” in English, La Esquina has been a tasty community feature in Todos Santos since 2007. Located at the corner of Calle Topete and Horizonte just west of the city center, the restaurant prides itself in offering healthy comfort food, freshly baked bread, and organic Chiapan coffee. There’s also craft beer on tap, local kombuchas, and refreshingly natural margaritas and cocktails. Furthermore, as a vibrant gathering space, La Esquina also frequently holds markets, live music, and open mic nights, among other activities.

While just a short drive from Calle Juarez, it's about a 20-minute walk from Hotel California. TIP: After taking a seat inside, staff will bring over the food and drink menus. Once you've decided, place your order at the cashier station next to the turquoise surfboard sign, and just before the bar. After placing your order, you will be given a wooden block with a number to take back to your table till your food comes.

In addition to bringing people together for fantastic meals, La Esquina loves hosting a variety of events. This includes their weekly Wednesday Market. After a mid-week stroll along Calle Juarez in Todos Santos, make your way to La Esquina. Follow the short stone path inside to the eclectic market. A number of booths set up under enormous palm trees showcase the work of local artists.

Finish off the day by savoring the fresh ingredients highlighted on the menu. Located right at the turn to go to La Maquina beach, this is also a perfect destination after taking part in the release of baby sea turtles with Grupo Tortuguero de Todos Santos.

Over the years, La Esquina has become a breakfast and lunch staple for residents and visitors. The innovative menu includes an increasing number of locally and organically grown produce. With vegetarian and even wheat-free options also on the menu, La Esquina serves comforting dishes that everyone can enjoy while highlighting Mexican cuisine.

Vibe

Exposed brick encircling La Esquina’s front door provides the perfect portal into the restaurant’s spacious patio. Beyond the rustic eye-catching door, one step into La Esquina is like walking into an oasis in the desert. The ambiance at La Esquina is a perfect blend of chic, laid-back and down-to-earth, inviting guests to unwind while enjoying their meals. Exposed brick walls and traditional equipal seating provide a rustic elegance full of Mexican charm. The open-air patio looks over La Esquina’s lush vegetation and stone walkways. The large palapa style roof provides a cozy setting, while a barely raised stage is perfect for live music in the open air. Seating can easily accommodate small to large groups, from intimate evenings to fiesta outings.

La Esquina: Menu & Drinks

La Esquina is an expert in healthy comfort food, and oh how comforting it is. Their freshly baked breads, cookies, and muffins complement the prime ingredients found in all of their dishes. Seasonal fruit adds further flare to La Esquina’s offerings, including the incorporation of organic strawberries from local ranches.

All of the dishes at La Esquina are made to order, so you can bet everything is fresh. In fact, most of their produce and ingredients come directly from local farmers and producers.

La Esquina’s extensive breakfast menu includes traditional favorites such as huevos rancheros and chilaquiles, along with vegetarian omelets and wheat-free coconut oat pancakes. Their fresh homemade bread is a staple for most of the morning delights. TIP: Don't hesitate to ask for corn or flour tortillas with the hearty bowls, along with the fresh salsa and crema.

Afternoon and evening diners will be pleased with La Esquina’s variety of sandwiches, burritos, and bowls. Their deliciously creamy and warming Carrot Ginger Soup is also fully vegan.

Don’t forget the drink menu at La Esquina, featuring fresh organic coffee from Chiapas! Their local kombucha is a treat, plus the fresh hibiscus (jamaica) and milkshakes.
