About

When looking for the one place you can go to experience all the lake has to offer, look no further than Bridgewater Marina & Pier. Here you can rent whatever you need, from ski boats to paddleboards to life jackets. Our family always makes a beeline straight to the marina for a good day of boating, swimming, and fishing, followed by a little shopping and a fun meal. It’s an all-in-one destination and a great way to spend any day while at Smith Mountain Lake.

Bridgewater Marina serves the entire Smith Mountain Lake region by offering six locations throughout the area for convenience. Here at its main location, the marina offers all things lake-related, including boat rentals, used boat sales, and dockside gas facilities. There is a well-stocked retail store complete with life jackets, water sports equipment, fishing equipment, apparel, sunglasses, convenience items, and even a few souvenirs.

Bridgewater Marina & Pier: Fun Facts & Cool Features

In addition to day docks, there is a service dock that allows for pay-at-the-pump gas 24 hours a day. Bridgewater Marina has six locations to serve you at Smith Mountain Lake. These include:

  • Bridgewater Marina & Pier
  • Bernard’s Landing
  • SML State Park
  • Mariner’s Landing
  • Hales Ford Harbor
  • Crazy Horse Marina

Expect a wide range of exciting activities to be offered when you arrive at Bridgewater Marina & Pier. In particular, you can rent almost any type of watercraft, from pontoons to kayaks to paddleboards. We even rented a few water toys for our kids so they could enjoy the lake in their own special way.

A unique activity that both adults and children enjoy is the feeding of fish near the Halesford Bridge. The marina is surrounded by shops and restaurants as well, so plan on spending all day here and making it a regular destination whenever you’re in the area.

You can rent the following from the Bridgewater Plaza office:

  • Tritoons (the most popular rental)
  • Pontoons
  • Ski boats
  • Deck boats (for up to 12 passengers)
  • Wakeboard boats
  • Personal watercraft (jet-skis, wave runners)
  • Paddleboards
  • Kayaks or canoes
  • Water toys and more

Call or make your reservation online. It will also help if you meet the boating safety course requirement by undergoing video training and taking a quick quiz beforehand or upon arrival. Otherwise, you can still go out as long as you have a rental agreement from Bridgewater Marina and a dockside safety checklist.

The marina is in a great location, and you can find good shopping and restaurants close by.

Gifts Ahoy: Stop and shop for specialty items or homemade fudge at Gifts Ahoy.

Bridgewater Sportswear: Shop for bathing suits, t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, and sunscreen before heading out on the lake.

Smith Mountain Wake Company: Buy or rent watersports equipment and apparel, or sign up for a training to start a new type of lake activity.

Moosie’s: Grab a sandwich or nachos at the popular Moosie’s restaurant.

Mango’s Bar & Grill: Relax on the patio and enjoy a burger.

Italian/Pizza Restaurants: Enjoy a slice of pizza while overlooking the lake at the Pizza Pub, or walk over to Vinny’s Pizza or the Tuscan Tavern near the Halesford Bridge.

Mexico Viejo Tequila Bar: If Mexican food and beverages are more to your liking, check out this restaurant/bar and enjoy a fresh margarita while waiting for your food to be served.

There’s also a coffee shop and ice cream eatery nearby.

Do you rent Bass boats or similar fishing boats. I am an experienced boat captain with over 35 yrs experience behind the helm of many different types of boats. I however am without a personal boat at the moment.

How much do your Tritoons rent for and what is the greatest horsepower you offer. I am thinking of bringing my family down for some fishing. We are all experienced boaters.
