Luxury Villa of the Setting Sun -Near Key West Fl

We spent five nights with our family at Villa of the Setting Sun in March 2026, and it was exactly the kind of getaway we were hoping for. As advertised, the property is a stunning and private retreat, featuring a beautiful pool, tasteful furnishings, and plenty to enjoy without ever needing to leave the grounds. The home was exceptionally clean, comfortable, and well appointed. The kitchen, indoor and outdoor dining areas, game room, and living spaces were all beautifully maintained and inviting. One thing we especially appreciated was how quiet the property was—everyone in our family slept extremely well. There was also more than enough room for everyone to spread out and enjoy a little privacy when desired. The location was another major advantage. It is close enough to Key West to make early morning charter departures easy, while still offering a more peaceful setting away from the crowds. There are also several very good restaurants nearby. Murray’s Market just up the road, while somewhat pricey, is convenient and well stocked with the essentials for preparing meals at the house. The kitchen itself deserves special mention. It is stunning, equipped with newly updated appliances, and a genuine pleasure to cook in. We also found the property management team to be responsive, helpful, and easy to work with throughout our stay. This was exactly the place we needed for a brief family vacation. Villa of the Setting Sun is a wonderful choice, and I expect anyone who stays here will be very pleased with that decision.

We rented this property through Vacasa/VRBO for a family celebration with our three adult children and their partners. Our plans were to spend several days hanging out and catching up. For a party of eight, this home served us perfectly. This home is secluded on a beautifully landscaped parcel; just a 20-minute drive from Key West. The bottom level is an open-air veranda with multiple seating and dining areas on travertine flooring that looks onto an infinity pool with a hot tub. Beyond the pool, there is a small sandy beach looking onto a sound that is perfect for kayaking, watching sunsets and stargazing. Kayaks provided! The home is large and well appointed with four bedrooms, each with its own ensuite, full bath and television The kitchen is large and modern. The garage has been converted into a game room and arcade. Surrounding the home is a covered open porch with multiple options for seating and gathering. We loved this house. It was clean, bright and open, and worked out perfectly for our family reunion. We would recommend it without hesitation. Overall rating 9.5/10.

Very private location.

Wonderful house and very private

I echo the comments about the location of this property. It is very private location. It’s on rocky road so if you drive a sedan be careful as it can be, well, rocky. you’ll be treated to gorgeous sunsets from the deck or even better view it from the private little beach on a kayak. The kayaking is a real treat and great for everyone especially first timers. Wear water shoes if you have any thoughts of getting out of the kayak since it’s shallow and very busy ‘underneath’. The iguanas may come visit you when you’re sitting outside downstairs. They are fun to watch, but that’s about it ! The home is truly exquisite and unique.

This house is BEYOND words. Great location, pool was fantastic and the house had everything you might need. Sorry we had to leave!
