Brought a bunch of friends to this house and it was a total hit. Super spacious and was very comfortable. Definitely what we were looking for. Thank you!
We rent in Tahoe for a week or two every year, so I'm comparing this rental to others. While the architecture/furniture in this home are very nice, there are many reasons I can't recommend this property for a winter rental. First, the driveway is absolutely treacherous. It is super steep with only a small flat area at the top. Even after the driveway guys came and "plowed" the driveway it was still a thick sheet of ice. We have a 4WD 4Runner and an AWD Rav4 both with snow tires and we were slipping and sliding all over the driveway. The 4Runner couldn't get up the driveway and we slid backwards down the drive, spun at an angle and got stuck in between a retaining wall and snowbank. AAA would not help because the driveway is not properly maintained. Finally, a neighbor got some tow straps and yanked us out. The 3 neighbors we spoke with said people have constant trouble with this driveway. The guys who plowed said they couldn't keep this driveway cleared to a safe level (one of them slipped on the ice while talking to us). Not only cars have trouble with the ice. Several friends fell on the stairs and driveway because the ice is not managed. We were there for 3 nights/4 days, and even when the skies cleared and the plow guys came, it was still super hazardous. If the owners would allow garage access, then you could avoid the exterior stairs required to get to the front door (assuming you can even get up to the garage). Fortunately one of the neighbors let us park at his house since you can't park on the street. The hot tub never got warmer than 86 degrees. We set the heat to 104. Again, we were there for 3 days and 4 nights and it never got warmer than a mild bath. On the topic of warmth, the furnace for the house is not quite enough for the size of the home. It took almost 20 hours to warm up to 70 degrees, so our first evening and night were cooler than we would have liked. There is a wood burning fireplace, but only one Duraflame log was provided and no matches or lighters to be found. We bought some wood and got the fire going which was nice for ambiance but didn't do much to warm the really large living room. There is a Jacuzzi tub in one of the bathrooms, but by the time it was barely half full we were only getting cold water from the faucet. Maybe the hot water heater in the house is too small for a vacation rental. There are some other quirky things but it seems like most short term vacation properties have their quirks. One thing I would suggest is that they splurge and spend the extra $20 to get a coffee maker with auto-off. I've been a coffee drinker for a long time and I can't remember the last time I encountered a coffee maker that would stay on and boil the coffee down to char (true story). This really is a safety issue. I think this maker could possibly start a fire and definitely can burn an unsuspecting hand. Vacasa/the owners were slow to reply and not at all helpful with our issues.
This property was well furnished with everything we needed to sleep, shower, cook, and play. The amenities were all there in working order. The family really enjoyed the great room with the pool table and fireplace. Would definitely stay here again.
I’ve rented this chalet twice now, and both stays were amazing. It’s always warm, clean, and incredibly welcoming. I’d come back again without hesitation
Water leaking in bedroom and bathroom for long time. Mold in the carpet and walls. Hot tubs smells like a pond. Dishwasher broken.
We loved the size and spacious living room. Great location. Very comfortable for 2 families. Note the steep drive.
