We had a great stay. The condo was very clean and pretty. My main complaint is the pots and pans. They need to be updated. There’s no frying pan or cookie sheet. One of the pans was covered in bacon grease so we just left it alone. Other than that everything was good. The beds are comfy. Plenty on extra towels and wash clothes. I would stay in This condo again!
We loved everything about this condo! We will definitely be staying in this one again!!
We stayed Sept 4-7, just after peak season. Some things to know before your trip - there is no hair dryer (my fault for not noticing it wasn’t on the included list) and the kitchen is pretty sparse, so if you plan to do much cooking, best to bring some cooking staples. Pack some bug spray - the mosquitos were brutal one night at the beach. The two-stage checkin changed our arrival plans, as while you can pickup your checkin packet after 5 at the Vacasa office, the A Place at the Beach office said we would be unable to get the pool wristbands until 9am the next day unless we arrived before they closed at 5pm. The unit was more spacious than I expected and well positioned to amenities. Luggage carts were available and there is an elevator as well as an accessible path you can take from room to beach if you have a wagon, stroller, or wheelchair. The unit could use a deep cleaning. The faucets and drains in the bathrooms were covered in soap scum, kitchen dishes, utensils, pots, and coffee pot needed to be pre-washed to remove old food particles, blinds are covered with a thick layer of dust, air filter intake vent is covered in dust/dirt, our feet were absolutely black with dirt and sand from walking barefoot on the floors, and the washer had visible mold inside. We reached out to Vacasa when we pulled back the covers on the master bed to find dirt and sand on the flat sheet. Given the checkout protocol is to leave sheets on the beds, we were quite concerned these were the last guests’ sheets. I chat supported Vacasa after realizing there was not another king set of sheets in the unit, they reached out to local office, and we slept on the sofa bed which had packaged sheets we could make it with. I followed up several times with Vacasa the next day and they kept saying they had not heard back from the local office. We ended up getting laundry detergent and washing the sheets ourselves in the moldy washer. We never heard back from Vacasa about the issue. I sent additional photos to Vacasa of some of the cleanliness issues, so hopefully the next guests will find the place much cleaner. I normally would not post all of this in a public facing review and instead share it privately with the owner, but given no response from Vacasa, I felt it important to alert future guests. A Place at the Beach is a community that we would visit again, but we would not rent through Vacasa again. We have rented Vacasa properties in other locations in the past and never had such cleanliness issues or lack of responsiveness/resolution.
We loved everything about this condo! The location was great, the furniture was recently updated, and the layout was great for our family. We had a few issues with the wifi that was remedied immediately by guest services. The kitchen was pretty bare but because we brought some standard items we were able to make all of our meals as expected. We hope to be able to rent this condo again!
We come for the grands, we enjoy it very much. The kids are excited to get up every day, with all the amenities they don’t get bored. We will be back.
The water slide, pool and beach were terrific. For most of the week we had no tv, probably not as bad as it felt and not Vacasa’s fault we were told. Both units 281 and 282 were pricier than ever before and more than others I spoke with at the resort. Although more expensive, we saw little improvement over past years.
