About

One of the most popular and family-friendly activities in the Redwood Coast is visiting the Sequoia Park Zoo. This is a hot spot not only for the beautiful animals, but for the new Redwood Sky Walk installation within the zoo!

Sequoia Park Zoo Admission & Memberships

The zoo is open every day from 10AM-5PM, except Mondays when they are closed. Currently, you're not able to purchase admission ahead of time online. However, you can purchase memberships online.

The ticket prices listed are for tourists - Humboldt County residents do receive a discounted price with proof of residency.

What's the difference between admission & membership?

Daily admission is valid for a single day of access to the zoo. Memberships are around double the price of daily admission and offer unlimited access to the zoo for an entire year! Additionally, you will receive a number of extra benefits such as discounts at the Ecos Cafe, weekly newsletters, sneak previews of new events, and more!

There are a few different membership packages available such as the Single, Dual, Family, Family Plus, and Family Deluxe. These packages offer discounts if you purchase membership for your whole family or two people rather than one. For more information, visit the Sequoia Park Zoo website.

Petting Zoo & Kids Area

The petting zoo section of a zoo is always the most exciting for kids because of the hands-on experience. Though they don't have food to give to the animals at this time (March 2022), you're still able to go inside the area and pet the animals.

For kiddos, there is also a playground-type area at the entrance to the zoo. Immediately upon entering you'll hear the laughter and excitement of kids playing in the tunnel near the otters or playing in the water fountains!

Redwood Sky Walk

One of the main attractions of the zoo is the new Redwood Sky Walk installation. It's actually the longest sky walk in the western United States at just under 1/8 mile each way! This incredible new feature allows you to walk through the redwood trees from 100 feet above the ground.

There is no better way to take in the true natural beauty of Redwoods and gain a new perspective of how truly incredible (& tall!) these trees are.

How safe is the Redwood Sky Walk?

For starters, there are 3.5-4 foot guardrails lining the entirety of the sky walk. The wiring throughout is designed to minimize the ability for children to climb or insert their feet/hands into the netting/panels. In addition, the park has put many structural supports in place to add increased safety beyond the weight capacity. Lastly, the sky walk was designed with natural occurrences such as earthquakes and high wind in mind. You can rest assured that they have taken all the precautions necessary to ensure a safe (and awesome) experience for all!

Ecos Cafe & Gift Shop

The on-site cafe in the zoo is called the Ecos Cafe and it has been newly renovated! Before, the gift shop and cafe were combined in the same space. With the gift shop being moved to the exit of the zoo, they were able to expand the cafe and make some improvements.

The cafe offers lunchtime food options such as burgers and fries, salads, sandwiches, and more! If you're just looking for a snack, they've got you covered as well. Offering ice-cream, smoothies, popcorn, and pretzels. Additionally, they do have a kids menu. This is the perfect stop for a break after walking through the zoo.
