Sammy's Bistro

About

When your family or group has mixed cravings for Texas BBQ, Thai-inspired meals, and American classics, only one restaurant will work: Sammy's Bistro.

The eatery is in the northern part of Park City, near landmarks like McPolin Barn. It serves globally inspired, made-to-order lunch and dinner food.

Owner and executive chef Sam Harris is a local who skied competitively before opening his restaurant. He wanted to create savory, reasonably priced fare, which he learned under the tutelage of master chefs like Jean Louis, Valter Nassi, and Gregg Vincent Grass.

Sam ventured out on his own, with dreams in hand, and served his cuisine during summers in a booth at the Park Silly Sunday Market. Success snowballed, and in 2011, he opened his brick-and-mortar Sammy's Bistro.

As news of Sam's fusion of Texas BBQ, Thai, and other cuisines spread, Sammy's Bistro became known as the "Locals Spot." Guy Fieri, host of Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives, got wind of Sam's food and featured the eatery not once but twice on his show.

When you need a restaurant that will appeal to various palates with fresh, creative cuisine, add Sammy's Bistro to your itinerary.

Vibe

The restaurant is at the end of a strip mall and has outdoor seating out front. Its architectural design is pleasing and contemporary and blends with Utah's outdoor vibe.

The interior is warm and inviting, featuring modern elements and mountain-town warmth. While it lacks the trendy decor found at Park City Main Street Historic District eateries, such simplicity is why locals frequent Sammy's Bistro.

The bar attracts solo diners and those wishing to watch sports on the flatscreen TVs. The overall vibe is ideal for families, groups, or those off adventure-seeking.

As mentioned, tables out front and beneath the building's entryway are popular during warmer days. Portable heaters keep diners warm when temperatures dip, and the patio-style tables offer views of nearby mountains.

Sammy's Bistro satisfies your hunger and enhances your Park City experience with its comforting environment.

Sammy's Bistro: Menu & Drinks

Let's explore Sammy's Bistro's favorites that have garnered high praise.

A shareable plate that got the ball rolling is the Texas BBQ Shrimp. Six prawns are wrapped in bacon and grilled with jalapenos. The meal comes with Asian Coleslaw, hush puppies, and BBQ sauce. It's a fusion of sweet and salty with a bit of heat!

Another creative option is the Grilled Romaine Wedge. This warm salad showcases grilled Romaine hearts sprinkled with kosher salt and cracked peppercorns. Next, four-cheese dressing is drizzled over the lettuce and topped with bacon bits and cherry tomatoes. The result is an exotic dish of smoky, sweet lettuce that's extremely popular.

Food carts in Thailand inspired the grilled Mahi Mahi Sandwich. The fish is marinated in honey and lime, grilled, and topped with fresh mango salsa, cabbage, cilantro, and tomatillo aioli. It comes on a soft Tuscan ciabatta roll.

A sandwich featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives is the Chivito Club. It features thinly sliced roasted pork tenderloin with bacon, lettuce, tomato, and a fried egg. It comes on a hoagie roll with spicy mayo and creamy tomatillo aioli.

All sandwiches come with homemade potato chips, but you may upgrade to fries, sweet potato fries, Asian coleslaw, Caesar salad, house Salad, a cup of Tomato Basil soup, or gumbo.

Regarding beverages, the "Mountain Mule" blends the spicy zing of ginger beer with the crispness of vodka and fresh lime. This refreshing drink is perfect after a day of high-altitude fun with All Seasons Adventures

You'll also find a good selection of beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options.

When you need global cuisine that's reasonably priced and praised by critics, visit Sammy's Bistro.
