1. Tulum
Tulum has become a hotspot for social media influencers and travelers in the past decade. Here, people seek to escape their busy lifestyles and relax in picture-perfect surroundings and nature. Additionally, many put Tulum on their bucket list to visit the incredible Chichen Itza, one of the 7 Wonders of the World.
All-inclusive resorts, villas, private homes, and condominiums dot the seaside landscape around Tulum in Mexico’s state of Quintana Roo. While we don’t currently represent any properties in Tulum, it is a developing vacation market that has welcomed more than 600,000 visitors in 2020 alone.
2. Playa del Carmen
Playa, as it is known locally, is a hot market in the heart of the Mayan Riviera’s trendy beach destinations. It has incredible turquoise waters and is ideally located close to Tulum, Cozumel and various ruins. Ranked by U.S. News and World Report as the top beach in the Caribbean, Playa has grown from a sleepy fishing village to a cosmopolitan city in less than a decade. This is a promising location to invest.
3. Rocky Point
Puerto Peñasco, or Rocky Point, was once another sleepy fishing village on Mexico’s northwest coast along the Sea of Cortez. It is only about 65 miles south of the Arizona border, known for its variety of fish and reasonably-priced charters. There isn’t much glitz here, but there is good food and plenty of outdoor activities. Most importantly, there is beautiful sea, sand, sun, and a wide choice of accommodations.
Rocky Point is an up and coming destination for American tourists. Additionally, many large franchises such as Sam’s Club and Little Caesar’s are planting roots here. It won’t be long before other well known names take notice of Peñasco! From luxury high-rise towers to condos in small buildings and even single-family homes, Rocky Point rentals are a wonderful investment.
4. Puerto Vallarta
Known as PV or Vallarta by frequent visitors, there’s a lot to love about this city’s multiple personalities. It lies on the curve of beautiful Banderas Bay on Mexico’s west coast. Northwest of the city, Riviera Nayarit stretches along the Pacific coast, with modern, upscale hotels and resorts. For a more traditional feel, take refuge south of the River Cuale in what is known as the Romantic Zone.
The city’s charm is its strong suit, and prior to the pandemic shut down, more than 5 million tourists visited the city annually. It is a bustling center of incredible activities and restaurants. It would be difficult to run out of things to do in this big city!
5. Guadalajara
It’s not on the beach, but Guadalajara is magical in its own way. Known for tequila and mariachi (both born here in Jalisco) this inland city is full of history, art and landmarks. In addition, the impressive Guadalajara Cathedral lives here, identifiable for its twin gold spires. Revel in the culture and spirit of this inland capital and explore unique ruins; the distinctive circular pyramids are found nowhere else in the country. Make yourself at home in one of our rentals, or consider buying rental property of your own in this up-and-coming vacation city.
6. Los Cabos
The tip of the Baja Peninsula has always appealed to American travelers. Cabos is as popular as ever! Known as a leading West Coast cruise ship port, it’s a favorite of serious deep-sea fishermen as well. The two cities (Cabo San Lucas and San Juan del Cabo) on this narrow spit of real estate where the sea meets the desert are quite different. Cabo San Lucas is crowded and lively. In contrast, San Juan del Cabo is quieter and packed with all-inclusive resort developments. Check out our rental properties in this area for an idea of what’s currently available.
7. Cancun
Cancun, situated on Mexico’s eastern coast, is a tropical paradise! With white sand beaches and a lively energy, you’re guaranteed a getaway to remember. In 2020, roughly 2.4 million international tourists visited the city, down substantially from pre-COVID numbers. A popular destination for bachelorette parties and family vacations alike, Cancun will not disappoint. Our roster of rental properties in this tropical paradise ranges from beachside villas to luxury homes and condominiums.
If you’re interested in Mexico’s current hot market for real estate, we would be pleased to help you get set up with your rental! Opportunities exist in all the popular tourist destinations, and we’ve got a pulse on the market. In conclusion, no matter which region steals your heart, Mexico is a promising investment.
