About
Established in 2014, Big Bear Snow Play is a world-class, year-round recreation spot in Big Bear Lake. It has become one of the area's most popular attractions, known for its friendly staff, excellent customer service, and affordable prices.
While known for snow tubing in winter, when the snow melts, there are more warm-weather adventures to explore. These include go-karts, a multi-level ropes course, summer tubing, and zipline. We'll discuss these in more detail in the next section.
Big Bear Snow Play can make snow, so no matter the weather, you can bank on flying down the slopes with friends and family. Also, the base lodge is your go-to for relaxing in heated comfort. You can also purchase food, play video games, and eat cotton candy. It's perfect for regrouping and reconnecting on your adventure.
Snow Play is close to other attractions at Big Bear Lake, making it easy to visit more than one location in a day. After schussing down the slope, take the crew to Mountain Room Escapes to test wit, skill, and teamwork. Or take on the challenge of skiing at Snow Summit. In the summer, visit the Big Bear Alpine Zoo after taking on the ropes course or summer tubing.
Big Bear Snow Play provides an unforgettable experience, no matter the season. Be sure to visit when in Big Bear!
Big Bear Snow Play: Fun Facts & Cool Features
The tubing hill is over 1,000 feet long and offers a handful of lanes so you're never waiting too long to tube. After a run, tubers ride the Magic Carpet (a covered conveyor belt) back to the summit, eliminating the exertion needed to climb by foot. When the sun goes down, the colorful lights come on for Glow Tubing.
During warmer seasons, the slopes are converted into three summer tubing tracks. Instead of snow, the lanes feature a special plastic surface that imitates snow's slickness. Tubers get the same thrills flying downhill as those who tube in the wintertime.
The Ropes Course will appeal to young and old alike. Adventurers are safely harnessed to cross ropes and bridges and climb through obstacles. The self-guided tour features 30 obstacles in a 6,400 sq. ft. area on two levels, 12 to 35 feet in the air.
The Speedway lets drivers operate the RT8 Sodi Karts with self-adjusting hydraulic brakes, pinpoint steering, and vacuum fuel pumps. These machines handle like race cars, with the Honda Whisper Motors pumping enough power to lay rubber through turns!
The karts are extremely safe. The car's design makes it virtually impossible to roll through the turns, while the Four-Point seat belts keep drivers secure. The Extra-Enhanced remote controls enable the pit crew to stop or throttle back any or all karts. All of this equates to a fun but safe racing experience.
There are plenty of eateries nearby to satisfy an array of palates. Before tackling your adventures at Snow Play, fuel up with a hearty breakfast at Lumberjack Cafe. Afterward, celebrate with a cold brew and juicy burger at Fire Rock Burgers & Brews.
When your vacation needs some adrenaline-pumping, family-friendly adventures, add Big Bear Snow Play to your itinerary!
