About

Whether you're off to ski, trout fish, or hike, start your morning on the right foot at Evans Brothers Coffee.

The story begins with two brothers, Rick and Randy Evans, who founded the company in the summer of 2009. But the idea of a coffee business started long before on chairlift rides up Schweitzer Mountain Resort.

Randy has over a decade of hands-on experience in high-end specialty coffee shops and has trained alongside industry professionals. Rick's forte was his strong background in business development, sales, and marketing.

Together, they established a clear and unwavering mission to elevate the coffee experience. With the success of their first location in Sandpoint, they expanded to CDA.

Key to their success was establishing meaningful, long-term relationships with farmers and producers worldwide. Once the beans arrive in Idaho, the team uses top-tier roasting equipment to bring out the distinct flavors of each batch. The result is nothing short of spectacular.

Over the years, the roastery has collected numerous prestigious accolades. They recently secured third place in the USA Today 2024 Awards for Best Independent Coffee Shop.

Also noteworthy is that the coffee shop shares space with Bean & Pie, allowing you to pair home-baked goodies and sweets with your coffee.

Vibe

The one-story brick building exudes a contemporary vibe, with wood elements, eye-catching signs, and sconces. The clean architectural lines set a welcoming tone before you walk through the door.

The facade's rustic design flows indoors, where an industrial-modern aesthetic is stylish and approachable. Picture beautiful wooden tables, a ceiling, and crossbeams, with industrial elements like the ordering area's white brick wall and a vibrant menu.

Bean & Pie's display cases blend with the coffee shop's, creating a harmonious setup.

The opposite wall sports a colorful mural and a long wooden bench with tables. Additional cozy seating arrangements dot the room, inviting you to settle in and stay awhile. The long, wooden communal table makes celebrating a birthday or a day with a large group easy with Lake Coeur d'Alene Cruises.

No matter when or why you visit, you'll find that the atmosphere complements your Idaho vacation.

Evans Brothers Coffee: Menu & Drinks

Before we explore the coffee, let's check out the baked goods from Bean & Pie. The famous huckleberry hand pie is a must, featuring a flaky, buttery crust filled with locally sourced berries.

When you need substance for a busy day outdoors, try the hearty breakfast pies. These warm, filling creations pack robust, savory ingredients into a convenient, handheld crust. Grab a bag to-go on your way to Silverwood Theme Park.

You'll also find cookies, scones, and pies with towering meringues, ensuring something for everyone and every occasion.

Now, let's look at the star attraction: the coffee! Before a single bag is processed, the team tastes countless samples to analyze aromas and flavors. Next, the batch undergoes multiple test roasts and cuppings to perfect its flavor. This extra step locks in the ideal balance of sweetness, acidity, body, and aftertaste.

When it comes to the drink menu, the specialty options are extraordinary. The turmeric chai offers a unique, caffeine-free experience, with its stunning golden glow, light sweetness, and earthy ginger notes.

Another must-try is the signature lavender oat milk latte. The baristas craft this drink with precision, ensuring the floral notes never overpower the rich espresso. It is wonderfully smooth and refreshing without leaning into excessive sweetness.

Coffee aficionados must explore the impressive pour-over options, like beans from East Africa. Baristas craft a cup that highlights the complex, bright, and fruity tasting notes typical of single-origin African beans. With every sip, you'll appreciate the immense care taken in the roasting process.

From its relaxing atmosphere to its world-class roasted coffees, Evans Brothers Coffee lets you start your Idaho vacation on a good note.
