"There's gold in them thar hills!" While the saying is attributed to a work by Mark Twain, it's probably what Tom Groves and Harry Litton shouted 135 years ago. 

The two miners discovered a 13-pound chunk of gold near Breckenridge. It would prove to be the largest discovery in Colorado and aptly named "Tom's Baby."

With a tip of the hat to these prospectors, Tin Plate Pizza was opened in 2021. Owners James and Meagan Harris worked with architects and designers to maintain the 138-year-old log home's rustic character while bringing amenities into the 21st century. 

But a classic, vibey building will only get you so far in the restaurant business. It's the food that has to impress. 

With that in mind, James and Meagan use the freshest locally sourced ingredients and a secret dough recipe for their pies. That, coupled with their unique combinations of toppings and smoky, crispy crusts, have won the hearts of locals and tourists.

But there's more than just pizza in this place. The family-owned restaurant is committed to the community by hosting local fundraising events.
