Fox Loetscher, famously known as ''The Turtle Lady,'' founded Sea Turtle, Inc. in 1977.

In its infancy, Sea Turtle, Inc. was a rehabilitation center for injured sea turtles. Over the years, it evolved into a globally recognized institution dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation, and release of sea turtles.

As if that's not enough, Sea Turtle, Inc. is celebrated for offering robust educational programs for visitors to South Padre Island. Their efforts have saved thousands of sea turtles and raised awareness about the threats these species face in the wild.

But it's not all serious business here; there's plenty of room for fun and fascination, too! As you walk through the well-maintained facility, you'll see pools home to different species like the Atlantic Green and the Kemp'sKemp's Ridley.
