About

Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill is one of Chef Lisa Dahl's many creations in Sedona. As one of the country's cutting-edge chefs, she currently manages six eateries through her Dahl Restaurant Group. These include Dahl & Di Luca, which showcases upscale Italian cuisine, and Butterfly Burger, where casual fare meets fine dining.

With this impressive resume and Chef Lisa's star-studded career, it's no wonder that Mariposa has become one of Sedona's top-rated restaurants!

The name "Mariposa" means butterfly in Spanish, and that sense of transformation and beauty comes through in every part of the restaurant. Here, Chef Dahl combines the flavors and spirit of Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay in a space where the architecture transports and inspires.

Her mantra, "When you cook with love, you feed the soul," is evident in the freshest ingredients and every detail in the restaurant. From the large glass walls to the expansive patios highlighting Cathedral Rock, the dining experience is second to none in Arizona.

Mariposa quickly earned a spot as a local landmark, known for its striking design and a menu that brings something fresh to Sedona's dining scene.

Vibe

We've set the stage for what many diners and food critics note: that you don't enter a restaurant, you emerge into a well-conceived space.

Case in point is the eye-catching exterior with its modern lines and architecture that blends into the desert landscape. Stonework, earth-toned stucco, and sharp edges echo the colors and shapes of the surrounding red rocks.

The interior features high ceilings, sturdy wooden beams, and elegant chandeliers, creating a sense of space and calm. Leather seating, rustic wood accents, and carefully placed metalwork create a warm yet refined ambiance.

The expansive windows offer picture-perfect views of Cathedral Rock and the Sedona landscape. To be frank, the setting alone is worth a visit.

Outdoor patios further connect you to Arizona's landscape, and when evenings get cool, heaters offer respite from the chill.

With its forward-thinking layout, the atmosphere at Mariposa will be the highlight of your dining experiences in Sedona.

Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill: Menu & Drinks

Chef Dahl's approach to her cuisine is simple: "The food must be bold to match the strong forces of Sedona's landscapes and architecture."

The menu features tapas and à la carte entrées, making it a delight to share food and to craft your personalized epicurean adventure.

A tapa standout is the empanadas, featuring three savory pastries. The Portobello comes with poblano, caramelized onion, and three cheeses. The Filet of beef empanadas comes with roasted potatoes, onion, and queso. Last but not least is the Al Pastor with Beeler's chorizo, roasted potatoes, caramelized onions, pineapple, and spicy Jack cheese.

Many also point out the Pescado a la Parrilla, a grilled fish entrée that changes with what's freshest. This seafood dish comes with oven-roasted Campari tomatoes, fresh corn, and house-made herb butter.

For those craving something hearty, the à la carte steaks are a must. All steaks are USDA-certified Black Angus and are wood-grilled with house-made chimichurri. The Filet Mignon is a standout, grilled to order and served with a mushroom Gorgonzola chipotle sauce. Add a side, like the Triple Queso Mac & Cheese, to make it the ultimate comfort dinner.

The drink menu gets just as much attention as the food. The Mariposa is a creative and spicy twist on a classic margarita. This libation features Corazon Blanco Tequila, Ancho Chili Liqueur, mango puree, lime juice, and Fresno Chili. As if that's not enough firepower, a drop of Peppers-Up! take this marg to a whole new level!

The wine list has plenty of options, with a strong focus on South American bottles. Malbecs from Argentina pair well with grilled dishes and are perfect for toasting a day of sightseeing at the Chapel of the Holy Cross.

When seeking the ultimate Arizona dining experience, complete with rapturous views and ambiance, make a reservation at Mariposa Latin Inspired Grill.
