South Mountain Saguaro Siesta

Restful, clean house and a great location.

The main reason we booked this house was because of proximity to South Mountain preserve for hiking and biking. Nice to be able to get out in the desert without loading up and fighting traffic. We were here in the winter so pool didn't get much use, but it is a very nice backyard and pool area. House was clean, comfortable and well furnished. Beds were comfortable.

The property was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was great. South Mountain hiking trail was close to the house and didn't need to drive and park. The parking lot gets filled up fast and there was a line at about 7:00 in the morning. The hike was easy enough that my sister who is in her 70's was able to make it up to the top of the mountain. Close to the airport, restaurants and attractions.

Good location, but some things to know before staying here. The house is in a great area right next to hiking trails and close to shopping and restaurants. It was in a quiet neighborhood and we enjoyed morning hikes and quiet evenings. However, there were a couple of things that should have been explained (or really should have been taken care of) prior to booking. First, the bedroom has a sliding door to the pool area, but the roll-a-shield was closed and broken. So, the bedroom is pitch black with no view as ia shown in the ad. Second, there is no cable TV, just the free Samsung channels. That means no live TV or sports, so we were not able to watch any football. You can log in to Netflix, but ad says Cable TV. Third, the grill is not a propane or gas grill, which is what I would have expected. It is just a Weber charcoal kettle, which is too much trouble to cook a meal for two on. I mentioned these points to Vacasa management, but received no response other than "noted".

Great location for our stay! Very close to stores, restaurants, and freeways. We appreciated the supplies and items available for use in the kitchen. The bathrooms had basic toiletries as well. The beds were extremely comfortable! If you had to work from home, having the desk with a spare monitor in one of the bedrooms was very ideal. It was nice having a private pool and the ability to take hikes so close to the house was phenomenal. There were issues with receiving the garage and house codes for entry and being reset during our stay but eventually was resolved. It was odd having the laundry in the garage, but still appreciative they offered this for use. Overall good experience and I recommend this house.
