We arrived at our rental on February 10, 2026, only to find that the door wouldn’t open. We were given a code for the Schlage lock, but someone had also locked the door handle. We called Vacasa, and Roxie (the property manager?) came to check on the issue. She went through the steps we had taken and found that the door still wouldn’t open. She contacted a locksmith who was able to get us in the unit and he also checked the sliding patio doors. Both doors had malfunctioning locks. Roxie suggested using the plastic pipes in the door channel to secure the door, which we did. Finally, between 6:30 and 7:00 pm, the locksmith finished, and we were able to unpack, have dinner, and get some sleep. On the second day, we discovered that the unit was not very clean. The dishes had dried food particles on them, and all the carpets were stained and unvacuumed. The hard floor surfaces had not been swept and had hair from either a previous pet or person. A photo showed the dirt I had swept up in just the small kitchen, bathroom, and traffic areas of the tile. We also found that the TV didn’t work, and there were no instructions on how to use it. The bedroom closet was full of old pillows, towels, and other items, leaving little space to hang clothes. The bedroom TV didn’t work the entire three-week stay. The bedspread was dirty and stained, and even felt like dirt when we rubbed our hands over it. The towels were stuffed in the closet and smelled musty, so we had to wash them before we could use them. On the third day, we cleaned the counters, tables, and other surfaces, and washed the patio doors so we could see out. However, we discovered that the shears behind the curtains on both patio doors were sun-rotted and shredded. Finally, there was the sofa. We had seen reviews complaining about this sofa dating back a while, but we were confident that it would have been taken care of by now. Well, it wasn’t! It was stained, dirty, and extremely uncomfortable, causing back pain! Along with that is the living area lampshades which are shredded inside and hanging down. All windows and doors are dirty the kitchen window is so bad it looks like it is frosted when the sun is shining on it. Our suggestions: Get rid of the sofa, really how many complaints do you need before you correct them? Get rid of the area rugs, the tile floors are easier to clean. Replace the lampshades Clean out the closets and get rid of old gross throw pillows etc. Leave instructions that explain the TV’s and the rules. Replace bulbs in the chandelier so they all light up and match, little issue but easily fixed too. New housekeeping company, sorry but the place was and is filthy, we only cleaned what we had to in order to stay here but much more needs to be done. Mark keys, I put tags on them but they need permanent tags. Safety Issue: Repair sliding glass patio doors so they lock, putting a piece of pvc pipe in the door is not secure! We loved the location and privacy of this unit. We would without a doubt stay here again.
How can the owner let this beautiful property become so rundown? Replace the couch, two area rugs, bedroom carpet and spindly kitchen chairs. The mgmt company is great but I was back in the 1970's. It was clean but the items mentioned must be replaced. Have some class!
Location of the condo. was great
The house is nice, small but nice. The area is so beautiful and tranquil. We had a very relaxing time over there.
