nice secluded cabin.
The cabin was beautiful, clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed, except beach towels. We loved the cabin, but getting their everyday made us not want to leave in the evening because I felt it was dangerous. It was also hard to find sometimes. Needs better signage for the roads and cabins.
The beauty of the cabin and the whole area was outstanding. The road up to the cabin was downright scary.
4 adults looking for hiking to see spring wildflowers. This cabin was the ideal spot and exceeded all our expectations. The location was excellent and afforded us easy entry into the National Park without all the busyness of the more touristy areas. Townsend has some nice places to shop and eat without all the crowds. This cabin does have some steep grades to navigate but each trip gets a little easier as you feel a little more familiar. Iโm convinced it would become rather difficult in snow or icy conditions. We are already planning a return trip and hope to be able to book here again!
We had the best experience staying in this cabin. Yes, it was tricky to find. Don't follow Google Maps. Believe the sign that says "there are no cabins up this road". Drive into the neighboring road to access "Timberwinds Resort". There is a map in the resort and signs directing you to each cabin number. With that info, it was easy to find. The cabin was perfect for 4 people. Cute, comfortable, and completely relaxing. The Christmas decorations were gorgeous and unexpected. The hot tub was great. The view was amazing. The coffee maker was a tad annoying (bring Keurig pods and don't rely on the larger pot). It was also great to be in the quieter area of Townsend, TN. It's a 30 minute drive from Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg if the touristy activities are your thing, but in Townsend you don't have to deal with that constant noise and traffic. There is an easily accessed grocery store and lots of local restaurants to choose from. You are also close to Smoky Mountain National Park, so lots to do if you don't just want to hang out in this wonderful cabin close to the top of the mountain. We were able to get up the drive to the cabin with our Prius, but if the roads had been bad (ice/snow) that would not have been possible. I would highly recommend this cabin rental to anyone.
Everything was nice and clean.
