Overview
Whale Watchers -Lower
Small families, couples, and weekend adventurers will find the perfect place for a relaxing coastal escape in Sea Spray, an oceanfront condo in Depoe Bay. Enjoy an inviting interior filled with modern comforts, sweeping views of the Central Oregon Coast, and a great location near several restaurants, varied souvenir shops, and amazing views from the rocky seawall. (The easiest sandy beach access is about two miles north at Fogarty Creek.) Spend a quiet weekend indoors or rest between your adventures in this condo's comfortable confines. Wake with a fresh cup of joe from the Keurig coffeemaker, then review your day's plans. Catch a refreshing nap on leather sofas in the living area, or watch cable TV for entertainment. You could also pour some Oregon pinot, head out the deck, and settle into Adirondack chairs to take in the dramatic views of the rugged coastline. The open-concept kitchen has everything you'll need to cook fresh-caught Dungeness crab and other local specialties, including stainless steel appliances and varied cookware. Enjoy group meals at the four-seat table, or take your meal onto the deck for an alfresco experience. Time to call it a day? Retire home for restful slumber in either of two sleeping areas. A telescope in one bedroom is perfect for glimpsing twinkling nighttime stars, whales and ships, or a sunset on the horizon. Depoe Bay is a quaint community featuring the world's smallest navigable harbor. You'll be less than a half-mile from the OPRD Whale Watching Center for great views of the seasonal gray whale migration, a half-mile from Dockside Charters for crabbing and fishing excursions, and about 12 miles from both Lincoln City to the north and Newport to the south. Ready for some day trips? Head 14 miles north for stand-up paddleboarding, kayaking, and boating in Devils Lake, or go slightly farther north for gambling at Chinook Winds Casino. If you've brought kids, they'll love the educational exhibits and playful sea life at the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, while those 21 and older will appreciate a brewery tour at Rogue Brewers on the Bay. Please note: This unit is located against HWY 101, the harbor, and it is the lower unit to a 2 story building. There may be some ocean, traffic, and foot noise at times. Guests will need to use a staircase to access the bottom unit.

We very much enjoyed our stay at Whale Watchers. The views from the deck/screen door don't get any better, and it was incredible to be able to watch the sunrise over the ocean in the morning. This unit is also within walking distance of pretty much everything in the little downtown area so getting around was very easy. We would definitely stay here again when returning to Depoe Bay!
The views are second to none. You are Oceanside with the very best view in town. I thought the listing photos were of town in general, but they are actually the views from the back deck. There is a coffee pot and a hairdryer (couldn’t find them listed under amenities). Some reviews are critical of the stairs but there is nothing unusual about the stairs. They are safe and include a handrail. I had warned my husband about the stairs, then he asked, “what’s the big deal about the stairs?” I just laughed and explained other reviews had complained about the stairs. It’s only an issue if you can’t do stairs. If you are mobile and can do most stairs, these stairs won’t be a problem. We hated to leave!
The view from this property is absolutely stunning! The location is fantastic—you can walk all around town right from the front door. The kitchen was well stocked, and having access to a fridge and cooking space made our stay so much more convenient. At this price point, it’s a great option for a quick weekend getaway, and we would definitely stay again. The only drawbacks were the strong cleaning chemical smells, which took some time to air out. We kept the back door open whenever we were there, which also gave us the bonus of hearing the waves crash. Additionally, the upstairs unit is quite noticeable—you can hear footsteps or even small items dropping. I’m not sensitive to noise and use a fan app to sleep, so it wasn’t an issue for me, but guests who are more sensitive might find it disruptive.
Beautiful view
Hands down the best part of the property was watching the whales, sea lions, etc from your deck! Property was clean and nice. Host communication was great. Walking into town was so easy.
Omg where do i start. First off, the view was STUNNING. It was so peaceful. The upstairs neighbors were a little noisy, but that’s just me being nit picky. Everything was in walking distance. The drive to the beaches were less than 5 minutes. Newport was 20 min away so we went every day. We left the door open at night so we could sleep to the ocean sounds. Everything was VERY clean which i was surprised about since dogs are aloud. You wouldn’t be able to know that any dogs had ever stayed there. We would absolutely stay here again and we’d bring our family! There are 2 queen beds and a trundle bed so it could easily sleep 6 people. Hopefully they will change that in their description! 10/10 will recommend this spot to everybody!
