Panoramic Ocean View Home in Elk with Beach Access

Spectacular coastal views from this house. Wonderful open plan living and dining space with multiple areas to hang out and plenty of comfy chairs to sit including on the south facing view deck. Appreciated the three full bathrooms to go with three bedrooms. Also appreciated that most of the house is on a single level as we had some elders with mobility issues in our group. Beautiful modern renovation and design. Right on top of highway 1, in town, close to the beach access. Would definitely stay here again as an alternative to Sea Ranch.

This property is set on a fantastic location with beautiful ocean views. Only grocery store near by is elk store which has limited supplies. We prepared our meals everyday and had to make few scenic road trips to Safeway in Fort Bragg to get our supplies. We enjoyed listening to music (Several music records provided) while soaking in the views from living room. WiFi was not bad as we were working weekdays during our stay. We wish the bed provided in main bedroom be king size. There is king size bed available in basement though which we did not use much. There are no window shades/blinds but we did not see any human near the property, so we were comfortable with it. Overall it’s a nice property and we will come back again some day.

This house was wonderful! The perfect pit stop for us as we continued up north! Only wish we would have stayed longer to enjoy the porch since it rained our days there!

This house is in prime position and simply a beautiful place. It was very peaceful and magical to wake up by the beach. The house is located close to the park and trail down to the beach. General store and museum close by. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking but it was odd to arrive and find only 2 wine glasses when the property sleeps 6 people. We did manage to find others but it was odd they weren’t out and ready. The house comfortably sleeps 6 but one room backs off the living area without a door so is a little restrictive but to be fair this is indicated in the listing. Despite enjoying our stay overall, I do unfortunately have to review the property poorly due to the mismanagement of Vacasa and their inability to address any of my concerns during my stay. I reported 5 issues prior to checkout. (Despite being told by the team later I didn’t contact them During my stay!) The most pressing reported issue being the difficulty in locking the rear door which you think would be of upmost importance. Secondly, the twin bedroom has a set of blinds that are completely transparent and one bed faces into oncoming traffic. The lights were so bright and woke me up multiple times. On reporting this issue, I was told the blinds were “functioning properly”. Vacasa’s dismissal of the inconveniences is why I choose AirBnb on a regular basis and will do in future. It’s disappointing our stay has been tainted by the lack of proactive response from Vacasa as the location itself is wonderful and the house beautiful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time. Stunning home, very comfortable with lots of amenities that could be needed for a stay. Lots of space to spread out. Incredible views of the ocean with a short walk down to what felt like a private beach as there was hardly anyone there. Enjoyed the small town of Elk, felt like a complete retreat from "real life."
