WV02 Fish N' Ships

Home has 3 levels - The top level has a wonderful almost 360 degree view, inlet on one side and the ocean on the other. Lots of steps. The family had a super vacation. We look forward to going back next year!!!!!!

On paper this looks to be the ideal property until you actually check in and discover… Only one of the 1 of the 4 outdoor lights around the pool worked. Light in the pool did not work. Pool liner is quite visibly worn and pool was a bit dirty. Panel is missing off the side of the hot tub. All outdoor furniture is quite worn and well past due for a pressure washing. Carpet is in poor shape with quite a few stains on all levels and poorly installed with multiple room length seams in multiple rooms and poor patch jobs in others. Mold on multiple shower curtains. Torn wallpaper in multiple spots in the 3rd floor bathroom. Stains on all comforters (some quite large). Water rings on all living room stands and the coffee table causing bubbled surfaces. Living room rug is covered in stains. Bathtub on second floor wouldn’t drain. Spent 15 mins trying to unclog it, was able to get it to trickle. Took 10 mins to completely drain about 2 inches of water. Mold in cabinets above microwave. Mold on north dinning room window. Multiple Cockroaches found throughout the property, with one crawling across the stove and into freshly cooked food ruining an entire dinner. No blinds or curtains in one of the rooms. Tube TV/VCR combo on first floor has no cable or streaming device and only supports RCA inputs (very dated). Non working TV in one room. Several burnt out lights throughout the house. Missing siding. Buttons on the freezer door for crushed/cube ice and night light do not work and the trim/panel is not attached to anything, only being held in by its wires. Every cabinet door is pealing. Light switch on front porch is damaged, faceplate is hanging, potential electrocution hazard. Driveway light is missing both bulbs, creating a safety hazard. The area is loud due to the KOA camp sites to the north and south, constant sounds of landscaping equipment, music and people yelling. There is also a large outdoor drive-in style screen at the campsite to the south directly behind the property, it’s very loud. Beer cans and broken glass in and around the outdoor shower. Multiple cigarette butts and empty cigarette packs around the property. Tampon (used) found under trash can Landscaping and lawn are in an unkept state. Poorly equipped kitchen. Very few spoons and no pot holders or oven mitts. The electrical outlet in the kitchen near the toaster is coming out of the wall. Fridge wouldn’t keep food cold when we arrived, Vacasa sent out a repairman (nice and friendly guy) he removed an excess amount of lent and dust from under and behind the fridge that he believed was impacting the efficiency. It took until the next morning to finally cool down and keep food cold. We tossed a few meat items due to concerns of it going bad. The vacuum cleaner barely worked and there is no dust pan. Light on the desk with steps to ground level is rusted out and broken off and is only being held up by exposed wiring. Wasp nest on the deck. Bottom mattress on the lower level bunk bed is cav

Highly recommend the location, one of the bigger houses on such a quiet street, fantastic communication from Vacasa. AAA+++

The location of this property was great. It was right in-between the ocean and the sound, close to restaurants and camp stores. Quiet location. The pool was nice although it could use a couple of umbrellas for shade. Overall Fish n Ships was a nice house and we would stay there again.

My family had so much fun here! Will definitely be back!

The house was the perfect size for our group and a huge plus for being dog friendly! The location from the beach was another plus, about a 5 min walk! As mentioned in the title the house got the job done for us for the week but needs improvements. The house is clearly dated and some aspects need to be updated for a better experience as there were certain aspects of our trip that shouldn’t have been a concern or issue for us to figure out as far as overall cleanliness and quality of amenities.
