The Avila Valley Barn is one destination that truly has something for everyone, no matter their age.

This second-generation farm offers fall field trips with hay rides, a corn maze, and some apple pie! They also sell fresh fruit, homemade pies, lip-smacking BBQ, and country-style fried chicken. 

Avila Valley Farm started in 1986 as a small fruit stand owned by the DeVincenzo family and managed by Debbie Smith. Fast-forward, and Debbie became a partner with the DiVincenzo family and later purchased what is today Avila Valley Farm. 

As a mother of seven, Debbie knew firsthand how to create a farm experience that would appeal to everyone. While she has stepped down from her leadership role, her children and their families continue the working farm operations. 

One of the highlights of visiting is wandering through the market stalls and being greeted by the sight and scent of freshly picked fruits and vegetables. The Smith family uses sustainable agricultural practices, ensuring everything is as fresh and eco-friendly as possible.

But the produce is just one of many layers of discovery at the Avila Valley Barn. Homemade pies, jams, and goodies capture the essence of home-cooked tradition and beg to be sampled. Add the Ice Cream & Sweet Shoppe, filled with tasty treats, and the Chicken Shack & Smoke House, serving hickory-smoked BBQ, and you may not want to leave! 

There are also opportunities to feed farm animals and take hayrides, making a visit educational and hands-on. And with Avila landmarks nearby, like the Point San Luis Lighthouse, scheduling multiple attractions in one day is easy.
