About

"Play where the Pros play" is not only a motto on the TPC Sawgrass website, it's a promise! Rest assured, this is a promise you can bank on, making it one of the top things to do on a Jacksonville vacation.

TPC (Tournament Players Club) is a premier golf course and home to THE PLAYERS Championship. It was established in 1980 by the PGA Tour and designed by renowned course architect Pete Dye. The layout challenges golfers with its strategic hazards and distinctive features, covering 7,245 yards that intertwine natural landscapes with artificial challenges.

The famed 17th hole, a.k.a, "The Island Green" is one of the most recognizable layouts in golf. Players require precision and nerve to land their shots on a small, surrounded greenspace.

The facility is a stunning mansion with European and California architectural elements. The picturesque setting is often the site for weddings and photo shoots.

Like most golf clubs, TPC Sawgrass has a clubhouse restaurant, Nineteen. But unlike many clubs, Nineteen's cuisine is above par in quality and options and is ranked as one of the top dining spots in Jacksonville.

No matter your skill level, booking a tee time at TPC Sawgrass is a must-do on your First Coast vacation. After all, where else can you claim you played where the pros have?

TPC Sawgrass: Fun Facts & Cool Features

An interesting feature at TPC Sawgrass is the course's meticulous maintenance. Ground crews work year-round to ensure the greens, fairways, traps, and water hazards meet PGA Tour standards. So, when you book your tee time, rest assured you'll be golfing on a pristine, well-maintained course.

A cool feature is that in addition to The Players Stadium course, which is challenging, there is also the Dye's Valley Course. It was designed by Pete Dye, Bobby Weed, and Jerry Pate (1982 PLAYERS Champion) and is adjacent to THE PLAYERS Stadium Course. Dye's Valley Course opened in 1987 and is one of Florida's top courses.

The golf museum is a fascinating feature of the clubhouse. Visiting will provide insight into the sport's evolution and the contributions of influential golfers.

The golf course's location near the Atlantic makes it easy to combine multiple attractions in a day. While some of your group tees off, the others can visit nearby Ponte Vedra Beach. And if the menu at Nineteen isn't appealing, head to Palm Valley Fish Camp for fresh seafood and tasty drinks.

With its stunning scenery, professional pedigree, and commitment to excellence, TPC Sawgrass is a bucket-list destination for any golfer on vacation. Discover why it's one of the top things to do in Jacksonville!
