About

Seafood restaurants abound along the First Coast, but few exemplify the atmosphere at Palm Valley Fish Camp.

The eatery offers a down-home feel on the Intracoastal Waterway and serves fresh seafood, creative staples, and tasty beverages. The views are stunning, and the atmosphere is like dining at a neighbor’s house, making it a top Jacksonville restaurant to add to your vacation itinerary.

Palm Valley Fish Camp is the creation of the dynamic husband and wife team of Ben and Liza Groshell. With their experience at their fine-dining restaurant, Marker 32, they launched this eatery in 2009 near Ponte Vedra Beach. The restaurant was a hit, so the couple opened other Fish Camp locations in Jacksonville. For this post, we’ll focus on the Ponte Vedra location.

While seafood is the main attraction, you’ll find “land lovers” classics like a juicy burger and pan-fried chicken with grits. They serve lunch and have a children’s and drink menu, ensuring something for everyone in your crew.

A tiled patio with umbrella-covered tables offers tranquil dining beside the water. It’s the perfect spot to unwind and relax while sharing oysters on the half-shell.

When your Jacksonville getaway needs tasty fare in a laid-back yet stunning setting, add Palm Valley Fish Camp to your itinerary.

Vibe

The exterior at Palm Valley combines rustic charm with modern elegance and blends with Porte Vedra’s atmosphere. Picture bright colors against natural wooden accents, giving it a beachy neighborhood vibe.

The quaint interior is an airy open space with large windows offering water views and allowing natural light to flood the space. Wood beams arc the ceilings, while tasteful artwork dot the walls, adding charm to the low-key ambiance.

The dining area caters to groups of all sizes, whether you’re enjoying a cozy dinner for two or a lively family reunion. Booths line the walls and windows, adding another Palm Valley Fish Camp dining dimension.

The coveted dining spot is out back along the Intracoastal Waterway. Shaded picnic tables, a small dock, and lawn chairs enhance the vibe that you are dining at someone’s home. Such details make for a relaxing and soul-satisfying dining experience, perfect after a day playing golf at TPC Sawgrass.

Enjoying a meal at Palm Valley Fish Camp transcends typical dining. It offers a taste of Florida’s coastal charm for anyone seeking the most of their Jacksonville vacation.

Palm Valley Fish Camp: Menu & Drinks

For this section, we’ll focus on the dinner menu since most of the lunch items are also on it.

Start your dining journey off on the right foot with an appetizer like the ceviche of the day. This Peruvian classic showcases raw catch of the day marinated in citrus juice and spices that act to preserve the fish. Served chilled with soda crackers, the ceviche will have your tastebuds dancing.

It’s hard to beat fresh oysters on the half shell or peel and eat regular or spicy shrimp. And when you consider the soups, chowders, fish spreads, and even fried gator tails, you could make a meal out of these!

The entrees are equally impressive, with plenty of variety for even the pickiest eater. The Spicy Seafood Linguine will appeal to seafood and pasta lovers! This savory dish brims with fresh sea scallops, shrimp, calamari, and clams sauteed in white wine, garlic, and tomatoes and topped with Pecorino cheese.

If you’re not a fan of fish, then the Top Sirloin Steak with Brandy Peppercorn Demi is the perfect pick for you! Tender steak is cooked to your liking in the brandy and peppercorn sauce and served with seasonal veggies and fries.

When you’re ready to toast your day after visiting the Jacksonville Beach Pier, head to Palm Valley Fish Camp for cold drinks. They feature an impressive beer and wine list and various non-alcoholic offerings.

Palm Valley Fish Camp is a must to add to your First Coast vacation itinerary. You’ll enjoy mouthwatering fresh seafood and divine drinks, all in a homey setting with views of the Intracoastal Waterway.
