About

Known by locals as "The House That Chilaquiles Built," MartAnne's Burrito Palace has been a breakfast and lunch go-to in Flagstaff since 2001.

It all started back in the 1980s when Gloria Martan Korkki opened a Mexican restaurant at this location. In 2001, Gloria sold the eatery to Anne Martinez, whose daughter, Tina, was a server at the time. In searching for a new name for the diner, Tina suggested combining "Martina" and "Anne" in honor of the former and current owners. The result was MartAnne's.

Over the years, this family-owned spot has racked up awards, including being named Flagstaff's Best Breakfast multiple times. Most notable is the chilaquiles, which became such a hit with diners that it garnered the aforementioned moniker, "The House That Chilaquiles Built."

Sitting on Historic Route 66, MartAnne's is the perfect spot for a hearty breakfast before a day of sightseeing. Whether you're exploring the historic Downtown Flagstaff, heading to the Grand Canyon, or preparing to schuss down the slopes at Arizona Snowbowl, this dining hotspot will get you going on the right foot.

With its all-day breakfasts, delicious lunch and dinner menus, and ice-cold beer and margs, MartAnne's Burrito Palace is a must-visit on your Flagstaff getaway.

Vibe

This iconic restaurant is easy to spot on Route 66. As the brick cornerpiece of a row of businesses, it still has the original brick signage from its past advertising "Mexican Restaurant." Similarly, brick letters spelling out "Martannes" run perpendicular to the expansive front windows.

The interior features Dia de los Muertos-inspired artwork and colors. This tip of the hat to the Day of the Dead celebration includes vibrant walls, quirky skeleton designs, and a mix of traditional and modern Mexican decor. Adding a historic feel to the room is the tin ceiling, giving authenticity to the space.

The dining setup features cozy booths and two and four-tops with vintage chairs. The bar area is perfect for casual meals or to watch a sporting event on the many flat-screen TVs.

The vibe combines the relaxation of a siesta with the energy of a fiesta, making it the perfect stop on your Flagstaff vacation.

MartAnne's Burrito Palace: Menu & Drinks

With so many menu items and times to dine, we'd be hard-pressed to list all of the winners. Instead, we'll highlight the standouts to give you an idea of what to expect.

Naturally, you must try the chilaquiles that launched this restaurant's success. This dish features toasted corn tortilla chips scrambled with eggs, green onions, and cheese. You can choose red, green, or Christmas (red and green) sauce. Next, you select chorizo or Fratelli-style pork with green chiles. With one bite, you'll understand what all the hype is about!

If you're in the mood for something sweet, the Banana Split French Toast will hit the spot! This decadent breakfast features golden French toast with bananas, strawberries, whipped cream, sprinkles, chocolate, and caramel syrup. Add the scoop of Neapolitan ice cream and a cherry, and you'll have the ultimate sugar fix!

Come lunch or dinnertime, the burritos shine, with plenty of options to please even your pickiest eater. When you need a hearty meal after hiking at Coconino National Forest, order the Grande Burrito. This massive classic features a large flour tortilla filled with your choice of meat, such as green chile pork, red chile beef, or shredded beef or chicken. Next comes the cheese, beans, rice, tomatoes, onions, and green chilis, making this one mammoth of a burrito!

The drinks are equally impressive, with the house-made horchata being a fan favorite. The beverage is creamy, cinnamon-spiced, and incredibly refreshing. If you're looking for something with a kick, the margaritas are a hit. The marriage of the tart lime, sweet mixer, and smooth tequila makes them the ideal pairing for the menu's bold flavors.

MartAnne's Burrito Palace combines delicious dishes, a lively atmosphere, and warm hospitality. Drop by and discover for yourself why it's one of Flagstaff's dining hotspots!
