The brainchild behind the park is Dr. Brenes, who proposed a theme park whose profits would support the Dr. Carlos Saenz Herrera National Children's Hospital. The dream became a reality, where the motto "Healthy children help sick children" became a way of life.

Getting There

Here are step-by-step driving directions from San Jose to Parque Diversiones:

• Start on Calle 17 and head towards Avenida 2.
• Follow Avenida 2 to Circunvalación (Route 39) and take the ramp onto Route 39.
• Continue on Route 39. Take the exit toward Pavas.
• Follow Route 39 and signs for Parque Diversiones in La Uruca.
• Turn right onto Calle 50 and continue until you reach the entrance of Parque Diversiones.
• Address: 2km oeste del Hospital México Avenida 59, San José, Costa Rica

Cost

Entrance to Parque de Diversiones is free; rides require ticket purchases. The best option is the Pase Especial and Fast Pass, both with unlimited riding:
