The peak season in the Coachella Valley is generally from January through April, when the weather is absolutely perfect for hiking the Indian Canyons or teeing-off. October through December also offer ideal weather for hiking, while summers in the Coachella Valley can easily reach over 100°F.

Definitely! With a mix of resort-style living, endless outdoor recreation, and plenty of sunshine, Coachella Valley is an excellent destination for long-term stays, particularly during winter and spring.

The Coachella Valley is only about 2 hours from L.A. or San Diego by car, or around 4 hours if driving from Phoenix or Las Vegas. If flying to the area, you can fly directly to Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) or to the neighboring John Wayne Airport (JWA) in Orange County, or LAX.

Many of the most popular events in the Coachella Valley center around music, the arts, and sports. Most festivals and major events take place from fall through spring due in part to the ideal weather. Select your Coachella Valley vacation rental well in advance for these events:

  • Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival (April - Despite its name, this takes place in Indio)
  • Stagecoach Country Music Festival (late April, also held in Indio)
  • BNP Paribas Open at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. (March) This is one of the world's most prestigious tennis tournaments
  • Palm Springs International Film Festival (January)
  • Modernism Week (February & October, held in Palm Springs)
  • Seasonal golf tournaments and regional festivals
