About

Regarding wineries in the Pacific Northwest, the Bells Up Winery in Portland stands out as a true hidden gem. This family-owned winery has been crafting exquisite wines since its inception. It is a must-visit for wine enthusiasts and connoisseurs alike.

Nestled in the picturesque Willamette Valley, Bells Up Winery offers a unique and intimate wine-tasting experience bound to leave a lasting impression.

Founded in 2012 by Dave and Sara Specter, Bells Up Winery takes its name from a term used in classical music. It's the crowning moment in a symphonic concert when the composer instructs French horn players to raise the instrument's bell up and project their sound with maximum intensity. Similarly, Dave and Sara aim to create bold, expressive, and unforgettable wines.

Dave Specter, the winemaker, brings a wealth of experience. He honed his winemaking skills at top-notch wineries in California's Napa Valley and Willamette Valley. His passion for crafting small-batch, handcrafted wines shines through in every bottle produced at Bells Up.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

One of the most intriguing aspects of Bells Up Winery is its dedication to showcasing the terroir of the Willamette Valley. They primarily focus on Pinot Noir, renowned in this region, but they also produce other varietals like Pinot Blanc, Rose, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah.

The winery's commitment to sustainable farming ensures that its wines reflect the unique character of its estate and the micro-sites from around Eastern Oregon.

What sets Bells Up apart is their tasting room experience. Bells Up offers a personalized and appointment-only tasting experience, unlike many larger wineries. This means you'll have the undivided attention of Dave Specter himself, who will guide you through their wine offerings and share the stories behind each bottle.

Their tasting room is cozy and inviting, with stunning views of the surrounding vineyards and hills. It's an excellent place to relax, sip exceptional wines, and soak in the natural beauty of the Willamette Valley.
