Vero Beach Museum of Art

Located along the scenic Indian River, the Vero Beach Museum of Art is a cultural beacon on Florida's Treasure Coast. 

Established in 1978 by the Alliance for the Arts, this nonprofit organization set out to create a regional hub for the appreciation and teaching of arts and humanities. Initially known as the Center for the Arts, the museum opened its doors debt-free in 1986, thanks to a community-driven fundraising effort that raised $2.5 million.

In 1999, the museum embarked on a successful expansion campaign, doubling its size to 54,509 square feet. This growth continued in 2007 with the creation of the Alice and Jim Beckwith Sculpture Park, providing an enchanting outdoor space for visitors.

Further expansion took place in 2011-2012 with the addition of a covered Atrium, a new entrance vestibule, and the construction of a 20,000-square-foot Exhibitions and Collections wing. 

Through its dynamic exhibitions, diverse art collections, and a myriad of events, including art classes, community gatherings, and special youth programs, the Vero Beach Museum of Art has become the cultural heart of the community. 

For 26 years, the Vero Beach Museum of Art has grown tremendously, reflecting the community's interests, tastes, and appetite for broad-based cultural offerings.
