Halpatiokee, derived from the Seminole Indian language, translates to "Alligator Water." True to its name, the park boasts about four miles of scenic riverfrontage along the South Fork of the St. Lucie River. And yes, you may spot a gator or two!

Within this expansive haven, over 500 species of native flora and fauna thrive, including 13 species acknowledged by the State of Florida as endangered or threatened.
