Treylor Park

While you may confuse Treylor Park with a trailer park, it's actually a brick-and-mortar serving "funky takes on Southern fare" in a welcoming, vibrant setting. 

Adding to the confusing wordplay are their other spots, Double Wide Diner and Treylor Park Beach Party, neither of which is in a trailer park. Hitch is the only sister site with a not-so-trashy name!

Before we explain this playful double entendre, let's back up to the story's beginning.  

Trey Wilder and Rick Kunzi opened the eatery in the North Historic District in 2014. Their concept was to craft Southern cuisine with a creative twist in a setting that was hospitable and lively. 

Regarding the name, it was inspired by co-founder Trey Wilder, who combined "Trey" with the concept of a "trailer park." While whimsical, it also reflects the restaurant's fun, laid-back vibe and creative twist on Southern comfort foods. 

Serving lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch, there's a menu item waiting for you to discover. Samples include the brunch Benedict Biscuit with sausage gravy, avocado fries, burgers, pizzas, and more!  

Its proximity to Savannah's top attractions makes planning a meal around sightseeing easy peasy. For instance, iconic churches like First African Baptist Church and the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist are only a few blocks away.

Vibe

The vibe is summed up best by its motto: "Home is where you park it." Situated on East Bay Street and across from River Street, the location is ideal for a break after sightseeing or before one of the ghost tours. 

Inside, you'll find a mish-mash of styles that, like its name, adds magic to the atmosphere. Strings of fairy lights crisscross the off-white ceiling amidst elegant gold chandeliers. Quirky, contemporary art dot the walls, while the flatscreen TV has gold trim to resemble a mirror.

The seating area features simple tables and chairs with booths lining particular walls. The bar has old-school stools reminiscent of those found in a malt shop, along with quirky art. 

The quaint back patio bar features fairy lights, vintage 1960s chairs, and a canvas covering to shield it from the sun and rain. 

No matter where you sit or when you dine, you'll find the atmosphere is lively, casual, and hip.

Treylor Park: Menu & Drinks

The menu reflects the restaurant's playful vibe, as is indicative of the PB&J Chicken Wings! This inventive combo features the best of two comfort foods, with crispy fried wings tossed in a pecan and peanut butter sauce, with peach jam sauce for dipping. It's the best of sweet and savory and is a must-try treat for first-timers. 

With the Grilled Apple Pie with Chicken, you'll be scratching your head, wondering if it's a dessert or a sandwich. This handheld features a lightly fried chicken breast with cheddar cheese, cinnamon-roasted apples, and bacon. It comes on a brioche bun with waffle fries.

The Chicken and Pancake Tacos are yet another playful combo of dinner and breakfast. The crispy, juicy chicken is in fluffy pancakes with chili aioli and strawberry salsa. One bite will rock your world!

The creativity extends to the drink menu as well, with cocktails, spritzes, beers, and wine. A popular cocktail is the Treylor Park Aperol spritz with OJ, Aperol, club soda, Prosecco, and Fernet Branca. The fruity, light drink with fizz is perfect on those balmy Georgia days!

For something with a twist and a kick, consider the Cactus Pear Margarita. This spin on a classic features cactus pear puree, Blanco tequila, freshly squeezed lime and lemon juice, with a chipotle salt rim. It's sweet, tangy, salty, with a bit of heat, and oh-so-good!
