About Rosemary Beach

Rosemary Beach is a small community located in Walton County, Florida, on the Gulf Coast. It was first a part of an older inlet beach area. Today it is much different from its roots. There are about 400 homes in the area, and the town center area is home to numerous restaurants and shops. As a community of around 4,300 people, much of its commercial development and economy revolve around tourism.

Rosemary Beach is about 16 miles from Panama City Beach and about 24 miles from Miramar Beach. It’s a master-planned community, one of three in this area. With lots of green space and ample views of the water, it’s a community that many choose to live in for its more relaxing vibe.

One of the interesting facts about the city is that it was designed in 1995, and in doing so, the developers focused on natural color palettes and high ceilings to improve airflow. This, along with the use of sustainable materials, helps make the location a bit more earth friendly. It was also designed from the start to provide people with direct access to the beach by foot.

Often called a harmonious, natural-influenced community, Rosemary Beach is very modern and upbeat. It’s one of the “newer” areas in the region, and with ample coastline access, water fun is always the place to visit. Its location even creates a highly desirable, year-round climate that welcomes visitors even in the toughest of winter months.

Designed to be like the French Quarter with boardwalk promenades and winding walkways that take you to various cottages and carriage houses, it’s a bit of a whimsical place to call home. There’s lots to do, from swimming on the beach to enjoying the more refined amenities the area offers.
