About

Some food pairings belong together, like peanut butter and jelly or wine and cheese. The same could be said of BBQ and the Blues, and no one does this better than Mojo Kitchen BBQ Pit & Blues Bar! With one bite, you'll discover why it's a sought-after Jacksonville restaurant.

In the language of blues music, "mojo" translates to "good vibes" and a "good luck feeling." You'll find both definitions at Mojo Kitchen when you take your first bite of their melt-in-your-mouth smoked meats.

Mojo Kitchen opened in 2003 and has blossomed into eight locations in North and Central Florida. Visitors and regulars know its the place for whiskey selection and tasty signature cocktails.

While BBQ hotspots across America argue that their style is the best, all agree that authentic BBQ requires low temperatures for a long time over hickory smoke. At Mojo Kitchen, they adhere to this technique and focus on cooking Carolina and Texas-style BBQ.

Centrally located in Jacksonville, Mojo Kitchen is the perfect jumping-off point to combine a meal with an area attraction. For instance, after visiting the MOSH (Museum of Science and History), head to Mojo Kitchen for lip-smacking ribs and ice-cold beverages to top off your day.

So, when you need "good vibes," savory smoked meats, and hot music, add Mojo Kitchen BBQ Pit & Blues Bar to your vacation to-do list.

Vibe

Don't let the beach-vibe exterior of Mojo Kitchen fool you into thinking it isn't an authentic pithouse. While its vibe is not a roadside shack, it serves the Real McCoy regarding slow-cooked food.

Step inside, and you'll swear you're in a Texas roadhouse. The vaulted ceiling gives the room an open and industrial feel, while the earth-tone tiled floor and walls add a Southwest tone.

Wood tables dot the floor and are suitable for families or can be pulled together for larger groups. The bar has stools for solo dining, and the restored barn wood wainscot beneath the counter gives the area a rustic look and feel.

The elevated stage is off to one side, while the back wall has graffiti-style names of blues legends like John Lee Hooker, Muddy Waters, and Howlin' Wolf.

The front patio offers dining al fresco to enjoy Florida's weather. While it's not covered, it's ideal on sunny days after exploring the historic buildings at the Beaches Museum.

Mojo Kitchen BBQ Pit & Blues Bar: Menu & Drinks

Start your BBQ experience on the right foot with the smoked wing appetizer. The pit-smoked chicken wings are juicy and flash-fried for a crispy finish and come with blue cheese and celery.

After a calorie-burning adventure with First Coast Divers, grab a BBQ meal at Mojo Kitchen, like the pulled pork shoulder or Texas-style brisket. They also offer combos so you can experiment and combine various meats for a customized BBQ experience. All BBQ comes with two sides.

The Jumbo BBQ Sandwiches are ideal for lunch or those seeking smaller portions. Choose from chopped brisket, pulled or North Carolina pork, chicken, and turkey. All sandwiches come with a choice of one side.

If you're not a fan of BBQ, check out the Southern Platters. The Mojo Smokehouse Chicken is a crowd-pleaser! The meal features grilled chicken breast topped with Mojo BBQ sauce, sauteed onions, smoked bacon, and jack and cheddar cheese. All Southern Platters come with two sides and jalapeno cornbread.

When it's time to wet your whistle, the beer and wine choices are plentiful. But their Mojo cocktails and whiskey selections are where they shine. A creative cocktail is the Drunken Cucumber, which features Old Forester Bourbon 86 mixed with fresh cucumber, lemon, and ginger.
