About

Some factories crank out cars, others high-tech gadgets, but at Surfer Factory Surf School, surfers are born!

This surfing haven, located in Jaco in the idyllic Puntarenas Province of Costa Rica, will appeal to novices and experts. With so many surf shops and instructors up and down the coast, what makes Surfer Factory Surf School unique?

The answer lies in their training technique and the instructors. Not only do they have combined years of experience riding waves, but they are also certified by the Cooper Institute and the International Surfing Association (ISA) and have received first aid certification.

Instructors combine their knowledge of fitness and exercise gleaned from the Cooper Institute with surfing techniques learned firsthand in the water and through ISA to create a trend-setting curriculum.

How all this impacts you is discovered in their bold website promise: "We guarantee that you will stand up and surf your first waves in just one lesson!! If you don't, the lesson is FREE." Now, that's a promise worth investigating!

The central shop is on picturesque Jaco Beach, making it easy to find and offering idyllic conditions for beginners. For intermediate surfers, Surfer Factory Surf School offers trips to Costa Rica's more challenging breaks, like Hermosa Beach. Experienced surfers will want to try catching a wave at Roca Bruja "Witch Rock," Pavones, and Damas near the world-famous Manuel Antonio National Park.

Surfer Factory Surf School: Fun Facts & Cool Features

Because of their Cooper Institute training, your instructor will fine-tune a training program specific to you to maximize your abilities and develop your surfing skills and your physical fitness.

While all instructors are highly trained, experienced, and motivated, don't equate this with hardcore or intimidating classes. Instead, you'll find them enjoyable sessions where learning is fun, and instructors develop a training plan centered around you and not a one-size-fits-all methodology.

Surfer Factory Surf School is your one-stop shop for rentals, apparel, and beach-related products. You'll find every conceivable surfboard design at the shop, including paddleboards. Additionally, the store has leashes, wet suits, sunscreen, bathing suits, and anything else you can imagine to make your day in the surf enjoyable and safe.

One standout feature is the school's proximity to other Jaco attractions. After learning to ride your first wave, head to Puddlefish Brewery to celebrate with an ice-cold craft beer, or off to El Miro to explore the ruins on the cliff and catch a breathtaking sunset.

Another cool feature is that the facility does everything possible to break down barriers to learning to surf. They have instructors fluent in Spanish, English, and German to bridge communication gaps. And with the various surf packages, there is something for every budget.

No matter your expertise or fitness, Surfer Factory Surf School offers an exceptional adventure worth exploring on your Costa Rica vacation.
