Getting There

While there are multiple routes, the most common way to reach this serene destination is as follows:

  • Start in Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona.
  • Head northwest on AZ-260 W/W White Mountain Blvd for 8 miles.
  • Once you get Show Low, turn left onto E Woolford Rd. Continue on as it turns into S Central Ave.
  • Turn left onto W Whipple St.
  • Turn left onto W Deuce of Clubs and then right onto AZ-260 W/S Clark Rd for 58 miles.
  • Turn right onto Rim Rd for 3 miles.
  • Turn right onto Woods Canyon Rd for 1.5 miles.
  • Turn right onto Forest Service Rd.
  • Address: Forest Service Rd 105, Payson, AZ 85541.

Cost

Visiting Woods Canyon Lake is free. However, renting the Group Area, camping, and fishing require fees and licenses.
