Sunflower Bakery & Cafe

Sunflower Bakery and Cafe is a colorful and delicious local hotspot! Serving up a multitude of breakfast and lunch items, there's something on the menu for everyone. Not only is this spot a local favorite, but it's a Casago favorite as well. We highly recommend a visit here when you're in town!

This restaurant is quite spacious with a couple different dining rooms, a bakery, and lots of outdoor seating. However, due to their popularity on the island, a short wait is still possible especially on the weekend. You'll find that the decor is full of character and color making the environment feel warm and inviting.

Bakery

The mouth-watering smell of fresh-baked goods is apparent as soon as you walk in the door. Once you walk in, you will go past the host stand and enter the right side of the restaurant to reach this area. They carry all kinds of delicious pastries such as muffins, cakes, danishes, and even wedding cookies. On the other end of the bakery, there is a cabinet full of various jams and even pancake mix for purchase. Additionally, they offer cold goods including juices and their famous strawberry butter in a tin to go! We found all the bakery items to be reasonably priced.

Bakery Basket

Whenever there is a choice for a sampler, we usually say go for it! Why choose one when you can sample a little bit of everything? With the bakery basket, you will receive a fresh baked danish, croissant, and blueberry muffin. On the side, you will get their famously delicious strawberry butter to top it off. If you have a smaller table or appetite, we recommend ordering the biscuits and butter. You will receive two biscuits, fresh out the oven, and the strawberry butter.

Huevos Rancheros

Go savory with their classic Huevos Rancheros. This dish includes two eggs and style on a specialty corn-cake. In addition, your toppings include ranchero sauce, cheddar cheese, sour cream, and breakfast potatoes. So good!

Pancakes or Waffles with Fresh Berries

What's your opinion on the debate between pancakes and waffles? Which is better? Thankfully, at the Sunflower Cafe you can have both. Choose from two buttermilk pancakes or light and crispy waffles. Both will come with fresh whipped cream and berries. You can't go wrong with these breakfast staples.

Tortilla Crusted Fresh Gulf Snapper

In true Galveston fashion, even this breakfast and brunch restaurant incorporates seafood into many dishes. The tortilla crusted fresh gulf snapper is one of their house specialties. Dressed with guacamole, pico de gallo, and butter. All the house specialties come with house veggies and your choice of fries or mashed potatoes. This dish is also one of the pricier items on the menu, coming in just over $20.
