If you're in the mood for a New Orleans atmosphere, seafood, and Creole cuisine, you have to visit the Black Pearl! This colorful establishment offers unique, tasty seafood selections you won't find anywhere else.

This restaurant is located just one street over from Strand St. It's recognizable by the deep color wall and historic-style restaurant sign on the corner of the building. Parking is usually available along the street; if you have trouble finding a spot, there are public parking lots nearby as well. The bright blue and orange walls welcome you as you walk in - you'll find a cozy and southern vibe here.

Vibe

Located on a corner, this two-story brick building oozes curb appeal! With its vibrant neon corner sign and wrap-around windows, it's a tip of the hat to seafood spots in New Orleans.

The interior features vibrant colored walls, rustic wooden tables and chairs, and Cajun-inspired sayings hand-painted throughout the room. Ceiling fans keep the room cool, while colored lights add a certain mystique to the ambiance.

The general seating area offers views of downtown Galveston, while the bar is suitable for casual dining or catching the game on the flat-screen TV.

This is the type of place where flip-flops and beach T-shirts are the norm. This beach vibe will appeal to those seeking a low-key ambiance, but where the cuisine is top-notch.

Black Pearl: Menu & Drinks

Pearl Po-boys are a classic! All Po-boys are fried and served on a fresh hoagie roll with lettuce and tomato. Although Po-boys are an everyday staple in Galveston, you won't find many quite like this. This handheld comes with fried oysters tossed in Cajun sauce and topped with bleu cheese crumbles!

Almost any restaurant you go to in Galveston is guaranteed to have incredible fish tacos! After all, Galveston is known for its seafood dishes. The Black Pearl's fish tacos live up to the standard! Fresh fish filets will be prepared your way - either fried, blackened, or grilled. They come served on corn tortillas, dressed with shredded cabbage, pico de gallo, and chipotle mayo!

Have you ever tried alligator bites before? This unique menu item comes with a special remoulade sauce. If you're feeling adventurous, this is a great option you're unlikely to find elsewhere!

For a little bit of everything, we recommend ordering one of the Bountiful Platters. There are five different platters to choose from, with a standout being the fried seafood and fried oyster platters! The fried seafood platter comes with shrimp, oysters, catfish fillets, boudin balls, your choice of a side, and a salad. Alternatively, the fried oyster platter comes with oysters and boudin balls plus a side and salad. All in all, you will get the most variety from the fried seafood platter.

The liquor menu at the Black Pearl offers more options than you may have thought! They have red, white, and sparkling wine options. As for beer, there are only four draft varieties. However, they have a dozen and a half bottles to choose from. The signature cocktail menu features sweet, fruity drinks. We recommend trying the Iguana or Calypso Punch.

Lastly, please note that no menu substitutions are allowed at this restaurant. However, you can order any additional items à la carte.
