Cancun Landmarks

From natural wonders to Maya ruins, check out these thrilling and fun Cancun landmarks and top sightseeing spots.

Xcaret Park

Heralded as “Disney Land” for eco-tourists, Xcaret Park is an exciting day trip for anyone that wants to get up-close-and-personal to the astonishing natural wonders and marine life in Mexico. Inside Xcaret Park you will find an aviary, a dolphin aquarium, a turtle sanctuary and a beach perfect for swimming, diving or snorkeling. There are a number of different excursions you can try, such as dolphin interactions, stingray encounters, shark swims, scuba tours and speedboat rides. If you get hungry while at Xcaret, you needn’t worry, as there are restaurants on site.

Coba

These ancient Maya ruins are situated around four natural lakes in the jungles of Yucatan. The Coba ruins, unlike the ruins of Tulum or Chichen Itza, have not been largely excavated or reconstructed, so you will find an intermingling of nature and artificial archeological remains. Compare to other Maya ruin sites, Coba is significantly less-frequented, which allows visitors to really take their time and marvel at the ancient wonders in peace. Tours to Coba usually include visits to Tulum and Chichen Itza, as they are in the close vicinity.

Xel-Ha Park

Xel-Ha is a natural aquarium centered on an inlet and lagoon, and is open for any visitor to swim and snorkel through. The ancient Maya called this location “Xel-Ha”, which means “where the water is born.” In the waters of Xel-Ha, you will come across schools of tropical fish, dolphins, and even turtles! All of Xel-Ha’s exhibits are natural. Some popular activities are zip-lining, water tours, cliff jumping, and jungle trails. After a fun day of taking part in the various activities on offer here, make sure to stop by one of the four restaurants for a delicious meal and one of their many popular cocktails!

Cancun Bars & Nightlife

From world-class nightspots to boundary-pushing cabarets, there’s a reason Cancun remains a magnet for the international party crowd. Here are some Cancun bars & nightlife hotspots you won’t want to skip.

Mandala

During your stay in Cancun, you need to make your way to the Mandala nightclub at least once! This world-class nightclub always has the party going. It is one of Cancun’s top party destinations, and has been for many years. Every night you will find something going on here–whether it’s Mardi Gras night on Monday or Gone Wild night on Wednesday, you are in for a wall-to-wall party every day of the week. Mandala offers bottle service, and often has live shows featuring jugglers, harlequins, and dancers. Mandala Cancun is located on Blvd. Kukulcan Km 9 in the Zona Hotelera.

Coco Bongo

The Coco Bongo is not your traditional nightclub. Its parties are centered around performances from acrobats, conga lines, live bands and musician impersonators. The performers at the Coco Bongo are always top-notch and truly know how to get the party started and the crowd jumping. While there is no traditional dance floor at the Coco Bongo, drinks flow all night and there is not a moment where you will be left unentertained; the performances are interactive with the audience. If you’re looking for a great show in a party atmosphere, come to the Coco Bongo and you will not be disappointed!

The City

The City has hosted a number of world-famous DJ’s, such as Chris Lake, Alesso, An21, Sharam, R3hab, Tiesto, Hardwell, Nicky Romero and Nervo, and continues to book the big names year round. The City is the ultimate dance club for all electronic music lovers. While in Cancun, be sure not to miss the epic festivities. The City is located on Blvd. Kukulcan in the Zona Hotelera.
