About

Imagine kicking off your Montana vacation with a stunning view of shimmering snow-capped peaks, adrenaline-pumping downhill slopes, and a touch of alpine charm. You'll find this and more at Whitefish Mountain Resort!

Located in the northern part of Montana, this ski haven boasts a history as rich as its snowfall. Founded in 1947, originally named Big Mountain, the resort transformed from a regional ski destination to one of the premier resorts in the country, earning its current name in 2007.

Over the years, it has been host to fervent ski enthusiasts, families, and individuals looking for scenic getaways. While its allure is for winter sports, the attraction spills into the summertime with outdoor adventures like hiking, fishing, and mountain biking.

At Whitefish Mountain Resort, Montana's rugged beauty collides with modern amenities, crafting an experience unique to Whitefish.

Fun Facts & Cool Features

As mentioned, Whitefish Mountain Resort holds its own in summer as much as in winter. While renowned for its ski slopes, the resort attracts mountain bikers in droves when the snow melts.

And for those with an appetite for awe, the resort's Walk in the Treetops feature is an unforgettable experience. Elevated bridges and platforms let you walk among the towering trees, offering a bird's eye view of the lush Montana forests below.

If you're here during winter, the “Fishbowl Terrain Park” is something you can't miss! It's the resort's innovative snow park, where skilled skiers and boarders showcase their talents on various jumps and rails.

And while on the topic of skiing, the resort is often lauded for its 'snow ghost' phenomenon. This occurs when fog and frost clothe the trees, creating haunting yet beautiful white silhouettes.

Whether you're seeking a thrilling ski experience, a summer adventure, or just a serene Montana vacation, Whitefish Mountain Resort has you covered!

With a legacy rooted in authenticity and natural beauty, it's no wonder this spot is on many travelers' bucket lists. So, gear up, check out those Whitefish rentals, and head to this magnificent resort for a getaway you won't soon forget!
