About

The Artists’ Gallery Sunriver Village is home to some exquisite art. The location opened in 2014, and since we come frequently to the area, we have enjoyed visiting the location several times now. It is a unique location with 30 local Central Oregon artists who call it home. Each one of them offers a different style and a unique product, but all of them are stunning pieces of art. It is an exceptional place to visit when you want to find a gift for a friend, or you want to add something special to your home.

There are a lot of fantastic options to enjoy here, including abstract works, pet portraits, greeting cards, and lots of items for the home and garden. There is always something interesting to find here. The artists here offer ceramics, metal and wood, glass, jewelry items, fabrics, mixed media, photography, and paintings, among many other things.

The location hosts some classes as well. I did not get to take any while I was there, but this is a great way to learn the crafts that so many of these artists are creating here. Check out what’s available when you visit, such as painting with oils, or which was what was available when I visited. They also do a Sip & paint type of experience. That’s a great way to spend a few hours with friends.

It’s also important to note that the location also hosts wedding receptions and other events. If you need a space that is close to the beauty that Sunriver offers, this is where you want to go.

Location & Information

The location is open most days of the year from 10 to 7, especially during the summer months. It is located in the Village of Sunriver, right on Beaver Drive. Like with many other things in the area, it is a simple stop as you explore the region and all that it has to offer.

Featured Artists

There are a lot of artists to check out there, but there are a few you really want to consider. I love the work of Diane Miyauchi, who does ceramic pieces. Each one is a piece of art with lots of colors and details. She also does a great job with pottery. I have a few of the plates and bowls that she has made over the years.

If you are looking for unique and beautiful art that’s handmade, consider the work of Karla Proud. These pieces are so unique but beautiful. She has more than 40 years of experience and has created pieces using both local and materials from around the world. Much of her work is gem work, and no two pieces are the same. Check out the attention to detail in these items.

There are a lot of painters who display their work here, but Bill Hamilton is one of the best. He creates beautiful, detailed paintings that capture the beauty of this area of Bend. It is common to see paintings of landscapes as well as animals in his work. I have a few of them that I have taken home because they are just treasures you will not want to overlook.

For glass work, consider the work of Jeff and Heather Thompson. They create stunning sculptures out of molten hot glass. They have been doing this for more than 18 years. What I really like is the range of options in terms of style, such as traditional pieces and those that are more contemporary. They do glassblowing work and custom pieces as well. Definitely check out what’s available when you visit.

Mary Wonser’s work in fabrics is fantastic as well. I have loved to pick up some of her items that are perfect for the cool weather some times of the year. She also uses a lot of colors, and that really helps her items to stand out. I love that some of them include a feather like feature or a bit of metallic in them.

Another artist I enjoyed is Kelly Lish. Her work is in mixed media, and it is full of color and vibrance. Each one of her paintings or other pieces is so stunning in terms of their overall quality. She makes some fantastic little pieces for the garden by repurposing items that you find. I really love the detail in her work. You may want to buy more than one piece from her collection when they are available.
