Too.Chez Restaurant and Bar

About

Prepare yourselves for the most fantastic dining experience in Christiansted! Too Chez was by far our personal favorite place to have dinner on the island. The environment, story behind the restaurant, food and presentation - everything exceeded expectations and left a memorable mark on our experience in St. Croix.

More than a restaurant, Too Chez is an inspiring success story of a father-son chef duo. Dad (Dave) and son (Dustin) run the kitchen and work together seamlessly like the parts of a song that come together. Additionally, the mom (Jane) works in the restaurant, helping the servers and checking in with locals and guests as they dine. It’s a full family affair and an experience you can’t miss.

Our Experience at Too Chez

Like most places in St. Croix, the Google Maps directions are not accurate. If you follow maps, you'll end up about a block away from where you should be. Through Google Maps, you can get a good general idea of the location and from there, make your way to Company St. Look for a cream-colored building with a red roof. They also have a sign hanging that you will spot from down the street. If you need help finding it, just ask a local! That's how we were able to find this amazing restaurant, and the locals are very friendly and willing to help.

The environment of this restaurant is unassuming from the front. They have some tables on their front patio, inside the building, and all through the spacious back patio. The most intimate and aesthetic setting is on the back patio. There are umbrellas, lights, palm tree design table settings, and candles. Too.Chez is only open from Tuesday-Saturday from 5:30PM-8:30PM, so reservations are recommended.

Service

Our server was a young and friendly woman named Zoey! She was fantastic, providing service with a smile. She was also very knowledgeable about the specials, dishes, and provided great recommendations. Overall, the staff here was friendly and passionate about what they do. If you sit inside, you can see the chef father and son duo working to execute and present everything perfectly.

Too Chez Menu & Food

The menu here is not very long, though everything on the menu is sure to satisfy. This is a restaurant that puts their focus on the quality of the food rather than the quantity of menu items.

Starters

Whether you're craving a taste of the sea or a creamy mac n cheese, Too.Chez offers a little bit of everything. They have a wonderful Roasted Garlic Brussels Sprout Dip, Baked Brie, and Steamed Mussels. Our personal favorites are the Baked Shrimp Scampi and House-Made Mac n Cheese du'Jour. So delicious and all great to share at the table.

Filet Mignon

The filet mignon was cooked to perfection! It was so easy to cut through and the flavor was impeccable. It comes with a house cognac cream sauce, cracked black pepper, and caramelized Delicious Apples. To perfectly accommodate this entree, your sides are tasty truffle parmesan fingerling potatoes and grilled broccoli.

Cheesecake

This house-made cheesecake is famous with the locals! It’s a little pricey per slice, coming in at $7/piece. But, it’s worth it. Unlike most cheesecake which is dense, Too Chez’s cheesecake is light, fluffy, and will almost melt in your mouth. It has a thick and delicious crust that I couldn’t get enough of. If you’re too full for dessert, make sure to take a slice to go at the end of your meal and enjoy back at your private rental.
