About

A charming, European-feeling, open-air cafe in the heart of Strand St., Cafe Fresco is one of our favorites for breakfast and brunch!

Cafe Fresco Location & Environment

Situated right in the middle of Strand St., Cafe Fresco is easy to spot. Their hanging sign displays their name in a whimsical font with a coffee cup. The restaurant is found in the middle of the business plaza called the Penthany building, so there is no actual door to enter other than walking through the hallway at the front of the plaza. Alternatively, there is a back entrance.

The environment is peaceful, with a large fountain nearby providing relaxing white noise while you dine. There are around a dozen tables in total, all of them outside in the middle of the plaza. Also, there are umbrellas and greenery around providing shade so it doesn’t get too uncomfortable with the heat.

The Menu at Cafe Fresco

Their menu offers a fusion between various different types of food - they offer Vietnamese Banh Mis, Italian-inspired handhelds, and American breakfast favorites. A little bit of everything is available to satisfy any breakfast or lunch craving you may have! Breakfast is available from 8:30AM-10:45AM. Then, they begin to serve lunch items from 11AM-2:30PM.

Cafe & Beverages

To start, you have a selection of nearly three dozen drink choices. They have all your favorite hot beverages such as cappuccinos, espresso, hot tea, and hot chocolate. For cold drinks, they have iced coffee, various milkshakes, and juices. We highly recommend their seasonal, fresh watermelon juice if they have it. It’s the perfect refresher on a warm St. Croix day, we had to go back for seconds! It’s made fresh, in-house and has the perfect level of sweetness. In addition, they also carry alcoholic beverages such as mimosas and wine.

The Cooper (Breakfast)

If you’re looking for something simple and savory, we recommend the Cooper. You get 2 eggs, cooked your way on top of their Yuca Home Fries. It also comes with your choice of meat and toast. Their home fries are deliciously seasoned-potatoes.

Chivito (Breakfast)

The Chivito is a must try if you’re looking for a flavorful, hearty meal. The origin of this tasty handheld can be traced back to Uruguay. It starts off with an open face sandwich. On top, there are 2 sunny side eggs, strip steak strips, sauteed onions, and provolone cheese. Additionally, for dressings and condiments, it combines garlic aioli, chimichurri sauce, tomato, and lettuce. This dish is everything and more, easily the most memorable food item we ordered.

Honey Old Bay Chicken Quesadilla

One of the most popular lunch items at Cafe Fresco, this quesadilla is not like the rest. The chicken is tossed in a sweet & spicy honey old bay sauce, giving it a unique and mouth-watering flavor. They use cheddar jack cheese for optimal flavor. On the side, you get a potion of celery with bleu cheese dip.

The Casago team highly recommends Cafe Fresco for a mouth-watering meal next time you're in town! Looking for a place to stay during your next St Croix Vacation?
